Facts:
Ronnie Brown made the pro-bowl
Chad Pennington only threw 7 ints
Anthony Fasano was 3rd in touchdowns by a tight end
Davone Bess holds the record for most receptions by an undrafted free agent
Miami was top 10 against the run.
Miami re-signed all but one freeagent from last years playoff team

now lets look at who miami is going against this year...

atlanta Falcons-
key acquisitions: Jeremy Newberry, tony gonzales, and mike peterson *nice youth, lol*
key departures-
CB Domonique Foxworth (Baltimore)
LB Michael Boley (New York Giants)
LB Keith Brooking (Dallas)
DT Grady Jackson (Detroit)
DT Rod Coleman (New Orleans)
QB Michael Vick (Waived)
S Lawyer Milloy (Unsigned)

you know what that tells me? That they have regressed!

Indianapolis Colts
key acquisitions: Donald Brown...
key departures: Marvin Harrison, Buster Davis, Hunter Smith, Tony Dungy, The only offensive coordinator peyton manning has ever worked under.

That tells me they have regressed..

Sandiego Super Chargers
key Acquisitions: Larry English, Shawn Merriman, Kevin Burnett
Key Departures: Igor orlansky *can't spell, Mike Goff, Jeremy Newberry

No denying the chargers are going to be poised for another run. I can't dog them because, Phillip Rivers is the best quarterback in the league. L.T. is amazing, no matter what age he is. Their defense is awesome! Only problem is Norv Turner....

Buffalo Bills
Key acquisition: Aaron Maybin, Terrell Owens
Key Departure: Jason Whittle, Jason Peters, Angelo Crowell, Jabari Greer, Darnell Dockery, Melvin Fowler..

They look better with Terrell Owens, no doubt. They are a young team with much to prove and nothing to lose. This team could come out hot and dominate or just be mediocre like every other year. As of now, on paper they have regressed.

New York Jets
key Acquisitions: Dirty Sanchez, Rex Ryan, Lito Sheppard, Bart Scott, Larry Izzo, Jim Leonard
key Departures: Chris Baker, David Barret, Eric Barton, Laveraneus Coles, Ty Law, Brett Favre, David Bowens, Kenyon Coleman

No Doubt about it the Jets look good on paper... Their progress is going to depend on Matt Sanchez/ Kellen Clemens, and the new coaching staff. No Doubt they look great on defense but, what offense other than their running game will produce.. as of now I see 8 in the box and no passing game from the jets.. Their games will be close, who will win them, though?

bye week....

New Orleans Saints
Key Acquisitions: Heath Evans, Darren Sharper, Pierson Prioleau, Paul Spicer
Key Departures: Duece McCalister mike Karney, Kevin Kaesviharn, Michael Lehan. Mike Mckenzie, David Patten...

Nothing big.. Look Like the same team but, without Duece! Expect the same production.

New England
Key Acquisition: the return of Tom Brady, Joey Galloway, Fred Taylor, Chris Baker, Shawn Springs, Leigh Bolden, Tanta banta-Cain...... 5 years ago this would be the greatest free agent class of all time! 5 years ago
Key Departures: Rodney Harrison, Matt Cassell, Mike Vrabel, Junior Seau, Rosevelt Colvin, Jabar Gaffney, Ellis Hobbs, Larry Izzo, Lamont Jordan, Deltha O'neal

So, It all depends on your boy Tom Brady.. Personally (i might be in a world of my own) I believe the worst thing they did was get rid of matt cassell. Matt proved to be just as good as Tom Brady towards the end of last year. He could run, and he made just as good passes. When Tom Brady comes out throwing pick 6's because of his knee The Patriots will wish they never got rid of the younger and more talented Matt Cassell.. Fred Taylor is still raw, nasty player.. Patriots none the less are the team to beat...

Tampa bay
key acquisitions: Byron Leftwhich, Kellen Winslow, Derrick Ward, Angelo Crowell
key departures: Derrick Brooks, Phillip Buchanon, Kevin Carter, Warrick Dunn, ?Joey Galloway, Jeff Garcia, Jovan Haye, Cato June, Alex Smith, Ike Hilliard

Jesus Oh my The Bucs are in for a rough year. Who are they going to throw to? who is playing defense? Bucs have REGRESSED!

Carolina Panthers
key Acquisitions: Everette Brown
key Departures: Ken Lucas, D.J. Hackett

Can't hate on them! Not Much Difference... success depends on quarterback play..

Jacksonville Jaguars
key Acquisitions: Tory Holt
key Departures: Fred Taylor, Mike Peterson, Tony McDaniel, Pierson Prieleau, Paul Spicer, Reggie Williams, Matt Jones

REGRESSED!

Tennessee Titans
Key Acquisitions: Nate Washington, Demarcus Figgins
Key Departures: ALBERT HAYNESWORTH, brandon Jones, Justin McCariens.

Just the fact that they lost Albert Haynesworth is worth 2-4 losses. Without him on their team they can't stop the run. Kerry Collins is just gettin older, and Vince Young is on the back burner..

Houston Texans
key acquisitions: Buster Davis, Brian Cushing, Cato June, Shaun Cody
key departures: Sage Rosenfels, Will demps, demarcus ***gins, Ahman Green, Morlon Greenwood, Anthony Weaver

They are getting better with every season... depending on the health of matt Shaub the texans could be dangerous.

Pittsburgh Steelers
key Acquisitions: Ziggy Hood
key Departures: Bryant McFadden, Larry Foote, Nate Washington, Marvel Smith...

Honestly, They haven't gotten any worse.. They are the team to beat! Im just upset we have to play them the last game of the season.

okay with all that said.. Some teams aren't near as good as they were last season..
teams like Atlanta, Indianapolis, Tennessee, Jacksonville, and Tampa Bay.. The best thing about that is that they are all eastern time based teams.

Now, lets look at the Miami Dolphins
key Acquisitions: Vontae Davis, Pat White, Sean Smith, Jason Taylor, Gibril Wilson, Eric Green, Jake Grove, Tony McDaniel
Key Departures: Andre Goodman, Vonnie Holliday

Improved!

Nice write-up - let's hope there's plenty of regression. We'll need some lucky breaks to repeat as AFCE champs.

I think we've gotta go at least 4-2 in the division.

Win 3 out of 5 of the following games: Colts, Chargers, Steelers, Panthers, Titans.

And 4 out of the following "should-win games": Saints, Bucs, Jags, Texans, Falcons.

Man, every week is gonna be a dog-fight, that's for sure.

Their is no given in the NFL, except maybe the Lions. But I've said it alot, week in and week out MIA will have a fight on its hands. Right now and come during the season, I as a fan won't look past the game in front of MIA. No room for that this year.

there were two free agents we did not resign from last years PO team: Goodman, and Hill..

Alltough I don't think we are going to miss them, especially not Hill

The Steelers had the "toughest" schedule last year, didn't really seem to bother them too much.

guys it dosn't matter what the teams did last year, for all we knwo the Lions can have the biggest turn around in NFL history, remeber we did it last year... every year is different thats why the NFL is so great... that's why the games are played, on paper all the teams are super bowl contenders, but when the season starts all will change, injuries, age, bad luck bounce or good no one knows what the cards hold for any body. look it, the cardinals made it to the super bowl and lost if history repeats it self like it usually does they won't make the playoffs... but that can change as well, you see no one knows... one game at a time and lets kick their *** in the process. here's to the fins winning the super bowl...

i didn't write renaldo because i dont believe he is a key departure..

Overall I think it is a good write up with a lot of greatinfo.

But to be fair to all the other teams you need to include thier draft picks. You list our first 3 picks although you no not even mention Atlanta's first rounder. Plus you mention you include McDaniel as a "key addition" for our phins, when he is a backup, and cost us a 7th rounder.
And altough I hateto admit it, the Pats draft added players which I had really high on my board (Chung, Butler, Brace)

Again I think it is a nice comprehensive write up, but is written a bit biased.

Brown didn't deserve to make the PB although he had a really good year and I expect him to be better being a year away from the injury.

Chad is really good when healthy but he's never had back to back healthy seasons.

How does Bess hold the record for most recs by an UDFA? he had 54 recs, Chrebet had 66 as a rookie and topped out at 84. I'm sure there are UDFAs that had mroe recs than Chrebet.

Your D was top 10 in rush yards allowed but you allowed 4/2 YPC and only faced 388 attempts the 4th fewest in the league.

It's tough to tell this early if the sched will be difficult or not b/c teams get good and bad quickly. it looks alot harder than last year on paper but we won't know until the games begin.

Junc it really is a crime that you have a negative rep on these boards.

Luckily rep means aboslutely nothing.

Edit: HAHA! I added to it and made it green!

from the teams who did well last year i expect the panthers, titans, and colts to regress and one of them to finish well below .500, my guess is the panthers.

You are right about bess. I remember watching week 17 last year when we kicking the crap out of farve and moving tha ball at will against your jets and hearing the commentators say the same thing that Crabet has the UDFA rookie recieveing reception record.
