Dolphins began doing the scrimmage by the whole team stretching, only two players on the sidelines where Jonas Gray & Brian Hartline. Hartline seems very bothered by his injury. He is wearing a compression sleeve on his left leg & can't even stretch with the team.

Dolphins proceeded to individual drills. The only thing that stood out here was BJ Cunningham dropping another pass with absolutely no one covering him.

7on7 Drills:

Moore gets the first crack. Moore intends a pass to Ochocinco which got tipped & almost intercepted.

Garrard took the next turn, he complete passes to Moore & Egnew. Garrard overthrows Pruitt who had his defender beat & looks real fast.

Tannehill's turn, throws nice a pass to Moore who drops it, comes back with a nice sideline pass to Naanee

1st team Oline:
Long, Incognito, Pouncey, Hicks, Martin

2nd team Oline: Murtha, Steinbach, Samuda, Jerry, McDonald

11on11 Drills:

Garrard in with the starting Offense in 11 on 11 drills, he rolls out & completes a pass to Bess.

HB Draw, Bush gains 5 yards

Martin allows pressure & Garrard's pass is batted at the line, very next play a false start

Garrard finds Naanee down the middle passes & Naanee wrestles the ball away from Nolan Carroll (PLAY OF THE DAY)

Thomas with a nice gain for a 1st, running hard

Thomas running hard & moving the pile another nice gain

Steve Slaton in with 1st unit

Chad drops a TD pass by Garrard on 3rd & GOAL, Carpenter hits the FG.

Miller with a nice kick return

Moore in with second team Offense going up against 1st team D, hands off to Miller for a short gain

Moore lobs a pass to the sidelines incomplete, 2nd down throws a bad pass to Clay incomplete. That it for Moore & the second unit

Marcus Thigpen seeing time at PR

Moore is back out with the second unit, Moore batted at the line. Next pass to Egnew who got lit up but manages to stay up & fights for extra yards after getting hit big time. Dansby on the hit.

Moore sacked

Moore comes out for his 3rd series with the second unit, 1st pass incomplete, 2nd pass screen pass to Thigpen, throws it away. 3 & out

Tannehill rolls out & completes a pass to Clay.

Tannehill is running a no huddle & is calling audibles at the line, completes a screen pass to Bess for good yardage. No huddle finds Bess in the slot & completes another pass for a 1st down.

Tannehill rolls out to the right, looks down field & finds Fasano open for TD. Crowd Goes Wild!!!

Goal Line:

Moore in with the second team Offense against the first team Defense, 3 & out.

Garrard completes a sideline pass to Ocho, rolls out to the left complete to Naanee, Culver bats a pass intended for Naanee in the endzone, Carpenter connects with a FG.

Tannehill looks down field throws to Fuller who draws double coverage incomplete almost intercepted, Next play he completes a screen pass, Next play sacked. Carpenter misses the FG attempt.

Moore who has seen a ton of reps today is finally in with the 1s. After two handoffs, Matt Moore completes a TD pass to Fasano. Fasano looking the best out of all the TE's today.

Marcus Thigpen fumbles a punt

Two-Minute Offense:

First team vs First team Moore goes 4-10, had a nice throw to Chad who made a nice catch in traffic but other than Chad catch in traffic, nothing spectacular.

Second team vs Second team Garrard 1-5, 0 points. too many check downs by Garrard.

Camp Notes:

Tony McDaniel has a hard cast on his right hand

Murtha who apparently was seen spotting a limp yesterday looks perfectly fine today, no sign of a limp.

Samuda saw a ton of work at today's scrimmage. First with the second team where he has completely replaced veteran Ryan Cook, then at RG with the 3rd team. If there was a player on the field at almost all times it was Josh Samuda.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Nate Garner is now a 3rd team LG & Ryan Cook is the 3rd team C.

There is absolutely no doubt Tannehill was the most impressive QB today. He was calling audibles at the line, ran a no huddle & kept his eyes down field. Tannehill looked real good.

Garrard moves the chains, but he is very Pennington-like and enjoys checking down way too much.

Moore did not look good, in fact it was darn right ugly. He throws to many incomplete passes, his throws are inaccurate, would be sacks, he really struggled today.

In this exact order Naanee, Bess & Ocho were the best WRs today. Chris Hogan really stands out. Did not notice Wallace or Pruitt

Fasano had a big day clearly the best TE on the field, expecting him to have a big year in this O.

Pouncey had some high snaps, he better get this out of his system before the season.

Tannehill's roll out for a TD would have won Play of Day, but the reports are no lie, Naanee looks like a beast out there & him wrestling Carroll in mid air for a catch was incredible.

Dolphins first team D looks intimidating as hell especially in the middle. Big Nasties! Props to the 2nd team Oline for having to go up against those guys.

Chris Hogan really stands out. He is a big strong WR, caught everything & stayed last on the field with Ryan & Bush. Shows kid wants it.

Hit of the Day: S Anderson Russell lit up Marcus Thigpen today.

****ing awesome write up. Very nice!

Thanks, it was not easy cause Fins are a much faster team, but they are extremely organized.

this is the most all around positive I have ever heard..from training camp reports. I think we will have a highly productive qb this year..Defense has always tore our offense a new one and we have looked inconsistent on offense in years pass, but now we look decent. judging from how we practice so far, with receivers emerging, I believe we can win 10 games this year with this schedule. Maybe im a homer...but despite the qb controversy and receiver dilemma. I havent been this excited about a season in a very long time. I think we have talent to compete with anybody barring injuries.

Robi since you were there, whats up with Vontae, is he even on the boundary anymore???

Or is he demoted

In honor of our 1st scrimmage of the year, I wanted to post a vintage video of the very 1st scrimmage held at, then called Joe Robbie stadium in 1987.

Man, I miss having an elite Quaterback!

You called that "positive" and predict 10 wins based on this scrimmage? I'll have to head to Vegas...

Honestly no clue, it just seems like Marshall & Vontae are sharing snaps as the #1 Corner. It is not like Vontae is with the second teamers.

Thank you. This is a very good writeup.

How does Jones and Clemons look as our starting safety combo?

I said "Reports" meaning more than one..what has happened in recent years? shuffling o-line, vanilla offense+bad coaching as well. I expect you think we will win about 3 games hugh even though we went 6-10 last year with no signs of improving?

Great write up OP. Easy to read and not much commentary just what actually happened.

Who knows how good or bad this team will be. At least we have eliminated coaching from the list of things that must improve. Hopefully.
