They didn't allow a single sack, even having Urlacher in front of them...

They opened up a few good holes for Ronnie allowing him run like a beast!

GO FINS!

Thats the biggest surprise, I can't believe how good they did. Don't know what to think anymore.

If they play like they did for the rest of the season we could break even.

Lets just hope they continue this.

Yep, Shelton finally found a home at RG and Carey and Hadnot are both good at RT and C. Now we need to find a LT and LG and we will be fine at OL.

I agree but we have to restructure Shelton's contract. He's making too much for a RG. And if we don't get Brady Quinn I still insist on drafting a LT with the first pick.

did joe berger play left guard today ?

Yea, these guys were Awesome today...... A Very Very good surprise. Maybe Houck really is the magic man with teaching average to bad-O-linemen how to play great. IDK.... but if they keep playing like that then I think O-line becomes MUCH less of a concern in the offseason and the team goes in a differen't direction early in next years draft.

One game does not make an o-line. Let's see them perform like this consistently.

They've been improving and Houck deserves some credit for that. The move of Shelton to RG was brilliant and D-Mac's holding nicely. They're blocking much better but a lot of it is because Joey doesn't need as much time to get throws off. It'd take a Pro Bowl effort to keep Culpepper upright long enough for him to make a decision.

I think Vernon Carey has really stepped up this year and is making a case for actually being worth his pick in the draft if he can continue and keep making progression under Houck.

Biggest surprise by far was the pass protection against this speedy, undersized DL of the Bears. They stunted and it didn't work.

The Shelton/McIntosh thing has really made a difference. It's an optimum solution because McIntosh is really no worse at LT than Shelton was (which is unfortunate considering they though Shelton could be better) but obviously Shelton is a LOT better at RG than what we had going on before.

The Dolphins DL, I really feel for the first time, have broken the pattern they'd established year-to-date.

The pattern they'd established from preseason through the regular season was to pass protect very well against 3-4 teams (bigger fronts), and pass protect poorly vs. smaller and quicker 4-3 fronts. They broke that pattern today for the first time.

Next up is the Chiefs. Our D is going to have to carry over their success.

My hope is that Herm does the dumb thing and puts Trent Green back at QB this week. Huard has this team rolling and is executing the new offense the way Herm wants. I truly feel Trent Green was resisting the new offense, and he seemed to be complaining a lot about the change from Saunders' offense to the new one. Green's the better player, but this would be his first game back from that devastating concussion, and he had not really established a pattern of success before the concussion.

It's a risky move for the Chiefs in the short term as I feel there will be growing pains getting use to Green as opposed to Huard...just like there were growing pains getting use to Huard and the new offense.

Probably the right move from a season perspective come to think of it though.

Well it will work out perfect. We won't be picking as high as so many Dolphin fans predicted. I think we will be picking around 10th or so and that should be a nice place to take Joe Thomas. We need him badly and I sure hope we draft him.

Hey CK, I have Green on my fantasy team. If they play him, do you think I should go with Green?

As for the upcomming Cheifs game, I expect Ronnie Brown to just shred through their defense because they simply CANNOT TACKLE. If we can control the line of scrimmage like we did today, and contain Larry Johnson, this is a very winnable game.

Well someone in another thread is saying that the docs haven't cleared Green to play for another 2 games. I had heard he was targeting this game...I guess not then.

And if you can't stop Tony Gonzeles, you can't stop the Chiefs offense. Priority #1 is keeping a lid on Tony G., IMO. Our DL, with Wilkinson and Traylor hopefully both playing, should be good enough to keep a lid on the run without special help.

Crowder, Spragan, Bell, and Hill will need to come up big to stop Tony G. We might consider having Jason Allen shadow him in certain situations.

Or, considering how well Bell played, we could hand him his biggest challenge to date taking on Tony G by himself. Things don't get easier for Bell....will he rise to the occasion like he did today?
