One thing about this Chad Ocho Cinco question you have to consider is...look at this offense. When Chad Pennington talks about how Henning does a great job using every weapon on the offense, that's not lip service. That's reality. We have three backs that are all heavily involved in this offense and all see the field regularly. We have two tight ends that are both productive players, about as productive as one another and our 2nd tight end's production ranks higher than a number of starters in this league. Our starting duo of WRs is on pace for what, 800 to 900 yards a piece? We shuffle in different offensive linemen every now and then for different play calls, Jake Long was pegged to be a probable All Pro at right tackle but maybe just a little bit more of a question mark at left tackle...so what do we do? Start putting him in on the right side in unbalanced looks.
Every week a different player is wearing the proverbial sombrero. Ronnie Brown against the Patriots and Chargers. Patrick Cobbs against the Texans. Ted Ginn against the Bills. Greg Camarillo against the Broncos. Ricky Williams against the Seahawks.
This is an unselfish offense, and my guess is it would brook no selfish players. Chad Ocho Cinco has been a very typical selfish WR in his career, I'm not saying he's necessarily a bad guy (although he's done some pretty crazy things at times) but he's definitely one of those guys like a Brandon Marshall whom Joey Porter correctly pointed out almost took himself out of the game mentally on some snaps just because he was so ticked he didn't get many balls thrown his way in the first half.
If Ocho Cinco comes in thinking he's going to be getting all the balls thrown his way, he's in for a rude awakening because that is clearly not what this offense is about.
