I was just reading a Herald peice and it mentioned two QBs who have had the shoulder surgery and I'm concerned-

hose concerns have not been lost on Brees, who is recovering from surgery to repair a torn labrum and damaged rotator cuff in his right (throwing) shoulder. Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery on Brees and said Brees should be ready to throw by May.

However, there is some concern that he might not play this season.

New York Jets quarterback Chad Pennington and former No. 1 overall pick Tim Couch have struggled to come back from similar injuries.

So, ah, we are throwing some good money at, and the future of our franchise to an injured QB who is following a crowd of injured QBs who haven't recovered?? Wow. Why are we so sure that he will recover UNLIKE the others? I mean damn, look at Chad and his nightmare since the injury, why would we have better odds with Brees-it was the same surgeon on all 3 QBs and the first two haven't recovered to be any better then Scott Mitchell

I like that Matt Scaubb kid, or maybe Daunte. Brees is starting to scare me. You wonder if he wants that huge guaranteed money because he knows he may never play again?

790 the ticket is saying that Daunte Culpepper is a running QB? is this true?

and yes, i will be thrilled to have Matt Schaub.

That steers me away a little bit too, a messed up leg is better than a messed up throwing arm IMO. But if we get either, I'll be happy...

God Damn it!

Chad Pennington and Drew Brees injuries ARE NOT THE SAME INJURIES!!

If I hear one more moron compare the two injuries, I think I might just go ballistic.

volek had Brees injury and he is just fine.....................he had it last offseason.

Couch and Pennington both hurt their shoulders, and then continued to play adding to their injuries. Inlcuing elbow injuries that they also had to get corrected. THEN pennington injured it again.

Couch anf Penny are the extremely bad cases, and brees is one of the very good cases...

I am wondering why they are not more teams in a bidding war for Brees, NO and Miami are the only teams pushing for his services....why? If Brees is the top FA on the market, I would think he would be flying around the country on a world wind tour. Thoughts...

Seriously, how can people spend so much time on this site and not know this by now? Your not alone...

yea but Brees will cost a fortune...someone like Ramsey, McCown, Schaub, wont cost a lot what-so-ever.

Can you put a price on loses, turnovers, fumbles, missed opportunities. We need a solid QB, we have had glorified backups for years now, time to try a real QB.

The DOlphins have their own medical staff to examine players and determine their condition and are the most experienced in rehabing and getting players to get back to their old shape. THEY KNOW the deal. They're not gonna let the Dolphins sign a guy to a WHOLE LOT OF MONEY that has little chance to recover. Or a guy that is not gonna be able to play.

I've got your moron right here bub. They had injured shoulders all done by the surgeon so I'm asking his odds of recovering fully based on prior situations. I never said the injuries were the same, just the common injury was the shoulder and what the odds are for Brees of making a complete recovery. Forget Chad and Couch and answer the question.

I'm tired of morons who can't read.

And they will know now after all the poking and proding Drew went thru yesterday. He really must want to come here to go thru all that. Because I don't think he did anything like that, if at all, during his visit to NO.

Chad's injury was much more severe and then he was/chose to rush back too quickly and re-injured the arm..that is why he's still not recovered. The exact same thing occured with Couch...The Fins doctors got a look-see at him yesterday, along with Dr. Andrews of course, so if Brees signs here it'll be because due diligence in regards to his injury was done...Does that mean that guarantees he will be back 100%....no....

I think the same thing of Culpepper...that is a severe knee injury...remember Robert Edwards ?? Same injury and he never returned... The other issue is that Culp is 2 years older, has some character issues and will cost us a pick (probably a day one pick that likely would have to be replaced with a FA signing) and his salary (which is the basis of his being available in the first place)...so signing Brees makes more sense in this case assuming they feel ok about the injury...

I do agree that I'd rather see Schaub, Garrrard, Volek or Ramsey here if we have to trade rather than Culpepper...If we don't want to trade, bring on McCown...
