Honestly, this offense that Mularkey is leading is a great team but our play calling is so VANILLA, its so PREDICTABLE. Whatever happened to the Play Fakes, the throws on 1st down. I feel as though Wanny is calling the offense all over again. We need to change the offensive gameplan to a more aggresive gameplan. We have a ton of weapons on offense, its just a matter of using them. Honestly, what do you guys think of our offensive gameplan so far???

What generalizations. We threw on first downs in the Buffalo game, even ran a reverse that nearly broke for a long game. Do you guys even look closely at the game or analyze the playcalling before posting this stuff???

Execution, execution, execution. That's what is not getting done.

Besides, everyone has been complainging all week were not running enough and now this whole we need to pass on first down stuff??

How come this couldn't be said in any of the other topics with people complaining about the team?

the playcalling sucks!!! it down right sucks

ran the ball twice in the second half of the bills lost? are you serious?
and that's why there was NO play action. play action is to football what the high joker is to spades, get it right.

Do you know why we ran the ball twice in the second half???

There was a well done post done by a fan here that broke down our few posession in the second half. It showed exaclty why we ran so few times in the second half.

It shows you are not reading into the details, your jumping on the wagon and screaming "Two runs!!" like those who want to generalize it all.

Look here for the reasons. And just for the record we ran 4 times in the second half. Ooh big deal 4 times, right? Yeah, but it goes to show some people are not paying attention.

our problem is not mularkey,i believe he called a good game in pittsburgh and well what can i say about last week, actually they way our players performed i think its quite comical that people are blaming mularkey

IMO, there was only one play called that I didn't like. That was on the series after Moorman dropped that punt out of bounds on our 1. Ronnie picked up 11 02 12 yds on 1st down by running right thru the #2 hole. That gave us plenty of breathing room in case we had to punt. When we were faced with 3rd and about 7, I would've taken a long shot down field then. As it was, the short pass was inc and we punted anyway. However, this is all based on adequate protection tho. Still may have caught them off guard anyway.
Other than that, any play calling sucks if you don't execute.

what??? is this post a joke??? I would think if anything at all the playcalling was TOO risky! ... we threw most of the second half .. what game were you watching man?

Mularkey needs to be pulled from the box same as nick did to linehan last yr....<Coincidentaly we won all six when linehan was on the sideline> and we need to run the ball more 15 carries, last week is not enough plain and simple.

it did seem Ronnie was in a rhythm, but for whatever reason, they wanted Suggs to run the ball in the 2nd half. It was odd. We were pounding them with Ronnie. They were pounding us with Mcgahee. We stopped pounding in the 2nd half and they didn't.

Yes . Execution. the Oline has to protect Daunte longer, and he has to look over his Wr's, not lock on Chambers and throw low to him. If he goes through the progression of his WR's, he would have seen Welker open, Booker open and McMichael was open several times. He needs to throw to the first Open Wr not to the first WR he sees. Play action pass could have slowed up the penetrating DL from Buffalo. Ronnie could have blocked better on a couple plays. I think Big Daddy should have been allowed to play this game, as he would have helped take Losman out of the game. Zgonia just didn't make the difference. Wilkinson makes this defense POP like no other player we have. With Bowens and Taylor on ends and Big Daddy in the middle, its like ground assault towards to QB. We will see the difference at Tennesee.

yeah, tell me about it. He did the same thing in Buffalo. He has this package he puts in on 3rd down. I don't unerstand it, except that it includes the backup RB. He's always done that. Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and now Miami. Buffalo fans never understood why we have this big stud running back that wasn't on the field on some of the most critical plays of the game. Try steelernation.com ; they will tell you the same thing. The really interesting part about MM's 3rd down package is that Buffalo had some of the worst 3rd down conversion percentages the past two years. Suprised he hasn't learned from that yet. It seems so simple for fans. Good player / important play / get ball to good player. But that's impossible when the good player is on the sidelines ???

I share your view, I don't see an issue with the playcalling, it's the lack of execution. If those 'vanilla' playcalls were executed precisely, we'd be scoring a ton of points.

You can be as aggresive as you want regarding calling plays but if the players cant execute because of a lack of talent or better play from the oposition then its all downhill.
