Simple question. Should we go offense or defense with the 12th pick? I know some of you will say it depends on who's there, but I want to know where your thinking is for this team. Is it more important to draft a skilled offensive player (Bryant, Spiller) or a cog in the defense (McClain, Thomas, Williams).

What's more important to the success of this team, the WR with 8 catches for 110 and 1 TD or the LB who covers the TE well, has 12 tackles and a pick?

I personally think this team needs some major upgrades on defense, but I think it's tougher to find an electric, big play WR/RB. I'm not sure which way the team should go. What say you?

It all depends on what we do in FA. I would like to see us go out and get Rolle and Dansby from AZ. If we did that then I think if Dez is there at #12 we take him. McClain is good but it wouldn't be bad at all to get Micah Johnson around the 3-4th rounds. I don't see the FO going after any FA WRs or trying to trade for one this offseason IMO because Marshall has potential to be an issue in the locker room, Antonio Bryant had issues with BP, V.Jackson will get resigned and whoever else there is doesn't seem to be drawing interest that we know of.

If we don't sign Dansby then I think we go McClain with our first pick if he's available.

would have to agree.. I say we target the top WR and top LB in free agency. if lucky enough to land one, that would dictate where we go with the twelve pick. I have to disagree though with your LB thinking. mcclain in the first would far and away be better than a LB in the third round.

If nothing major happens in the signing or trading department before the draft and if the right guy is available I'd have to go offense. Normally, that wouldn't be the case but I believe we need a good, young WR for Henne to pair up and grow old with. Not getting him a true #1 WR would eventually stunt his development.

OFFENSE ! im in the minority but look at this, Ronnie is injury prone and on the decline, undependable and i love him but if we can get a second, bye bye.

We are not exactly in need of a QB or olineman at 1.12 and there are no worty TE's there so it would have to be RB or WR-

WR- who was our last number one? chambers? This year, the WR position is pretty thin, rather this year its quantity over quality, Dez Bryant and others. IF we are going to take a WR in any round, it should be dez at 1.12, he has the highest upside and is the surest thing if you can say that

RB- if an only if ronnie is traded, then CJ spiller should be the pick. same with RB, not loaded, one alpha male, CJ vs. others. most explosive player in the draft.

When you look at defense, its loaded, very deep and very talented, you can get studs in rounds 2 and 3 and get a solid starter in 4 if you play ur cards right... how many offensive skill positions (WR, RB) studs are u going to find in the 2nd 3rd and 4th? imo its offensive in the 1st or no offense drafted at all.

WHAT SAY YOU!?

Defense I want McClain.

how explosive is he? is he guna be the difference between winning or loosing? a game changer? worth all that money and a high first? CJ and Dez give us the most bang for our buck. when does a WR1 become avalible like that? say CJ becomes chris johnson, when is chris johnson every going to become avalible? WR1 might be the hardest thing in the NFL to get. we have our franchise qb, give him weapons

cj spiller no matter how good is a luxury pick. what hole does he fill on our roster?

expecting spiller to become chris johnson is wishful thinking. I'm not saying he won't, simply saying I hope the FO doesn't select him based on hoping and praying he becomes someone he is not.

At 12, I would hope we would take somebody who is going to contribute right away, moreso on offense and defense and not just special teams. Sure he might see a handul of snaps, but I need more out of my 12th overall.

dez bryant on the other hand.... would probably contribute much more to offense.

Don't want Spiller that high. I would love Bryant that would be fine with me but I would rather McClain.

defense...the best defensive player available at twelfth is what I would do,as far as offense I would take the best WR left with our second pick. On a related subject did any of you see Shipley in that WR challenge today? he looked good and if he was available at our third I would definitely take him.

Rookie RB's - on average - contribute MUCH more than rookie WR's. We can't count on R. Brown or R. Williams. How is RB a luxury pick?

Obviously defense. Unless we prefer mediocrity and missing the playoffs due to TE's and WR's getting whatever they want in the middle of the field.

The correct answer is that it depends on what holes we fill in FA.

It looks to me like our holes at NT, WR, FS and TE won't be easy to fill in FA while LB may be a position we can fix with some UFAs

NT - Wilfork, Hampton, Franklin, Pickett and Jolly will all be franchised or signed long term.

WR - Marhsall, Austin and Boldin will be too costly to trade for.

FS - Rolle may or may not get cut, Bethea is a RFA, Otogwe is a RFA.

TE - Tony Scheffler and Owen Daniels will be RFAs. Maybe Ben Watson would be a good option b/c I think he is an UFA.

But at LB, we could find some pretty solid UFAs...

LB - Karlos Dansby (age 29) and Scott Fujita (age 30) are both UFAs who could help us.

So if we signed Dansby and Fujita, then I think we could look at Dez Bryant at 1.12. We should also trade Ronnie for a 2nd round pick so that would make CJ Spiller would considering at 1.12 too.

Defense. Can't go wrong with Jerry Hughes, McClain, or Earl Thomas. I'd be satisfied with any three. There's no offensive player (even Dez Bryant) that satisfies me.

McClain is the next Patrick Willis, you dont pass on that when its a major hole on your team.
