God help us. Listen, I like Ryan, but from the previous years of watching him he is not go to win without a lot of help. If we do not surround him with some really exceptional players(both offense and defense), we are not going anywhere. I told the people I watch the games with that he is Trent Dilfer and we do not have the team that the Ravens had.

New Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen responds to a question during a news conference Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, in Davie, Fla. Lynne Sladky AP

When Clyde Christensen interacts with Ryan Tannehill, the Dolphins’ new offensive coordinator tries to channel Randy Newman.
Christensen’s message: You’ve got a friend in me.
“It’s a lonely position in this league,” Christensen said Thursday. “It’s lonely in the locker room, it’s lonely on the street. It’s hard to find friends. It’s kind of a unique position.
“So I always felt like the No. 1 job I have is to be an ally, to be a safe place where a guy can talk and communicate and have a relationship where you can bounce things off and generate ideas.”
If Christensen’s deeds match his words, he’s already an upgrade over the Dolphins’ previous offensive coordinator.
Bill Lazor was fired midseason, in large part, because of his dysfunctional relationship with Tannehill. The Dolphins quarterback couldn’t audible and had very little input in the game plan.
Christensen, introduced to South Florida media Thursday, seems determined not to repeat those mistakes.
“I visited with him and his wife [Lauren] when I came in for the interview and had a great breakfast with them,” Christensen said. “I’ve been extremely impressed with him. He’s been extremely productive and he’s played some awful long stretches of good football and seems to have all the things you’re looking for: a guy who wants to be good, who has it in perspective. I’m really looking forward to seeing him on the field a little bit.”
Christensen will be able to focus all his energy on jump-starting Tannehill because he won’t call plays. Adam Gase will.
But his fingerprints will be all over the Dolphins’ system, which will have elements of what the Colts and Broncos ran with Peyton Manning.

Based on past history I am sure his next job will be a demotion.

He's quite a character.

I don't remember a coach like that around here before.

Good luck to him & Gase.

RT has loads of potential, maybe if he had a kid he would be better able to focus. :d-day:

I do believe this year has shown that Rivers, Luck, Brees among others will not win "without a lot of help." Cam has never played .500 ball without "a lot of help." So what's your point? And when has Eli won without "a lot of help?"
Oh and did I mention Melty Ice's '13 and '14 teams?

Excellentl points.

And dkphin, not sure why you're just hating to hate or what? Nothing wrong with this article. Unless you want there to be I guess

I thought coach Clyde sounded like the exact opposite of Bill Lazor. Lazor had all the answers and had his sights on bigger prizes from the get go.
This guy has absolutely no ambition. Sounded like he really did not want to ever call plays and was happy just to be here.
He did work with some powerhouse offenses and great QB's so he probably knows his stuff.

we shall see

I do understand what he said about being the OB's ally. Lazor certainly wasn't.

Landry, Matthews, Parker, Miller all provided Tannehill with a lot of help and our offense still only scored more than 20 points 3 out of 16 games. The guy is just not a leader.

LOL...you consider having a #1 WR named Ginn Jr. a lot of help, interesting.

When your QB can stand upright he can smoke NE.....when he can't, he pisses blood the next day. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what help he critically needs.

Let's get something straight

Every team in the NFL consists of:

**** the #QBwinz mentality with a spiked bat. It's not a novel concept; it's a falsehood and a fantasy. It's also the easiest way to pick out those who either don't understand the game, have never played the game, or an unfortunate combination of both.

Landry, check.
Matthews, check.
Parker??? How many games did he play again?
Miller??? While a fan and think he deserves a ton of credit, I don't seem to recall all that many Lynch or Peterson moments where he took over the game.

So, where is all that help?

Forget the offensive side of the ball . He doesn't seem to think having one of the best defenses in the league or the fact you play on a shorter field with better field position would be considered "help " .

Aka he doesn't know jack **** about football
