They blocked well in pass protection run game could be better with thomas running the ball. Opened up a few holes up the middle for reggie. Gonna look even better when jake gets back.

I spent some time rewinding and watching in slow mo on the 1st half....feel much better about the line tonight. There was some man-handlin' going on in the trenches on the run plays. And pass protect was more than acceptable too.
Murtha had some penalties that were bad, but overall played pretty well...couple plays in the run game he looked real nice. Pouncey and Incognito were clearing out Panthers too. Even Carey and Colombo were holding down the right side alright tonight.
Step in the right direction tonight.

I think if Colombo's body holds up,alot of people are going to be glad he is here.He was one of the
toughest lineman i ever saw play.Parcells took him from the Bears when his kneecap was torn off.
They let him rehab for a couple years and he came up big.He has the heart, lets hope his body lets
him perform at the level he can.

Columbo did not play good.. go back and watch tape again... even with the penalties i rather have murtha in there..

TWO words for you, Lydon Murtha

They sure played better than week 1. Vernon Carey started to get better as the half got near. Looks like he is finally starting to settle in at RG. Pouncey was fantastic . . . take away the high snaps, he was the best OL of the night. Ritchie does his thing in the run game but man he isn't a LG, looks terrible on the move. Murtha take away the penalties, was dominating a little to be quite honest with you. Like to see that. Really didn't pay much attention to Colombo, if I'm gonna be honest, so I can't really comment, I'll take a look at him maybe on the replay this week.

Well when Jake gets back Murtha will be given a look at RT, I do not know if he will win it and i doubt he can beat out a Cowboy considering this CS. But at worst he is a very good back up and could be on rotation at RT during tough games to keep fresh people on the line.

murtha was up against the panthers best blitzer had alot on his mind
who would u rather play left tackle if jake is hurt?

They played how they were supposed to play against a below average team with a below average pass rush! That goes for the entire team...true evaluation for this team will be when they play opponents on and above their current level..see atlanta!

You cant SEE ATLANTA!!

PLEASE, we had what 13 practices before that game and no OTA's no Bush, no Marshall Pouncey in his first real game, O coordinator in first real game. Way to many first vs a team what has been in the same system for what 3 or 4 years, we we gonna look rough regardless

Be it as it may! Its teams like the atlantas, patriots, jets, steelers etc that will give is a TRUE indication of where we are as a team. IMO teams like carolina should only be used as a lithmus to make sure we don't play DOWN to the competition as we have a propencity to do, THATS IT!
