Offensive Rankings: Sparano Vs. Philbin [SPOILER: Philbin Sucks]

Philbin promised a high flying, scoring, aggressive offense with a founded on the passing game. When he got here with this message, we all slurped it up, envisioning the Packer offense flying down the field. After years of trudging Sparanoball, it was a welcome message. But in reality, what have we received? A quick look:

SPARANO: Offensive Rankings [1st 3 Years]
2008
Points Scored: 21st
Yards: 12th
Passing Yards: 10th
Passing TDs: 16th

2009
Points Scored: 15th
Yards: 17th
Passing Yards: 20th
Passing TDs: 27th

2010

Passing TDs: 27th

PHILBIN

2012
Points Scored: 27th
Yards: 27th
Passing Yards: 26th
Passing TDs: 30th

2013
Points Scored: 26th
Yards: 27th
Passing Yards: 20th

2014 (Through 2 Games)
Points Scored: 18th
Yards: 21st
Passing Yards: 24th
Passing TDs: 8th

As you can see from the rankings above, Philbin's offenses have by-in-large been WORSE than Sparano's. And I didn't even include the rushing offense. Sparano's teams completely blew Philbin away when it came to rushing offense...

LMAO at the GIF...classic!

Pretty pathetic. No wonder Ross flew the red eye to lure Harbaugh. Maybe he'll get a second chance this offseason.

With Ross' track record, he will somehow get played by Harbaugh again for a big contract with another team... :(

I actually think Sparano was a better coach than Philbin and that's a pretty shocking thing to have to admit.

Absolutely incredible... When the **** is this Goddamn franchise finally going to bring in a decent regime??? It's been well over a ****ing decade now! Jesus Christ!

At least with Sparano there was a plan and an identify . Maybe not a good one, but at least there was one. And at least he had passion, if only for field goals.

u know what ppl ripped on sparano, and he was a pretty bad coach, as he got too conservative way too many times, managed the clock horribly on a consistent basis, etc.

However, one thing u can say about sparano is at least he looked like he cared, he showed emotion, unlike phillbin who looks dead out there.

i dont know y philbin was hired in the 1st place, y, because he was oc of a team that had aaron rodgers, and that made him look successful?

Agreed, I would take Meatball 100 times before I'd take the walking corpse Philbin... Just watch, this team will completely turn on Philbin soon. Noone wants to fight for such a listless lump of flesh.

Sparano was the beneficiary of a better kicker.

Carp blew plenty of games, but thus far he was indeed much better than Sturgis.

Sturgis really lost his mojo after midseason last year.

Scary thought? Philbin was Ross choice! What will it take to get Ross to turn?
