After reading about the work out that Hakeem had with Henne I really hope the fins take this guy if he is there at 25. Some thing tells me he is the real deal and if the Dolphins pass on this guy I have a feeling they are going to wish they never did. To me I think he will be the next Michael Irvin. Strong, good hands, very physical but not super fast.

All the draft experts that I listen to say this guy is the most polished Receiver ready for the NFL after Crabtree. Pat Kirwan says that after the top two corners - Malcolm Jenkins and Darius Butler - the rest of the corners will still be there in the 2nd round.

So what I think the fins will do is if Butler and Jenkins are gone when the fins pick at 25 you will see them pick Hakeem at 25. However if Butler or Jenkins is still on the board at 25 then the Dolphins will pick a corner with their first pick!

Just my take on what I think will happen because I think corner and wide receiver are our biggest needs right now!

I can't wait for the draft! I just wish it was starting at 12:00 instead of 4:00. I live on the east coast and it is going to suck having to wait until the night time to see who Miami gets!

I hope you mean the next Michael Irvin on the field and not off of it, we dont need that here.

How about we rename this thread the official-you-are-in-the-wrong-forum thread!

Woah there...
Lets just calm down and....

Vote Bumpus.

After drafting Teddy in the first round a couple years ago, I am a little uneasy about drafting a WR in the first with other needs like CB and OLB. We can get a Ramses Barden or maybe a Kenny Britt in the early 2nd.

I really don't think OLB is that big a need right now. If you wait and pick a receiver in the later rounds then you are going to get more of what we have already - average receivers! I think the fins need to come out of this draft with at least one star playmaker at their position.

Outside of Cameron Wake we really dont have any young and up-coming OLB's and I really dont want to see Matt Roth getting Burned in coverage. Charlie Anderson is ok but not the future opposite JPeezy. I see that as a problem. Could we draft in the later round? sure. But to me it comes down to CB and OLB. We have Drafted a "playmaker" WR two years ago and how has that panned out? Not great.

nicks is the most nfl ready receiver in this draft...he ran nfl style routes at unc...he has the body...and i know for a fact that the giants will scoop him up if he slides...outside of qb, wide receiver is the toughest position to learn in the nfl...and i do believe that nicks is the most prepared to make the leap...

i like robiskie more than i do britt...

nowhere in pat kirwan's mock does he have derius in his first round...he has him as the 47 pick overall...in fact, ONLY ON FINHEAVEN have i seen any reference to derius butler as a first round pick...

i disagree, sorry.

Our biggest concerns are NT, OLB and CB.

And our next concern IMO is TE, because after this season, we've got a few free agents at the position and the lord knows our offence relies a lot on those folks.
I don't think we'll go TE in round 1 though (maybe if the "boomer scenario" unfolds and pettigrew is available, it'll be different)
but WR is not a valued position in this offence, nor is it valued by this coaching staff and their philosophy.

I'd see a massaquoi or a robiskie in round 2, but not nicks or britt in round 1

Even if Pettigrew is available he would be a luxury pick. In our current status at OLB and CB I just dont see that happening.

dont rule out a guy like eben britton...the trifecta's number one concern is getting more dominant on the offensive and defensive lines...britton, should he slide, would slide to right tackle and carey would go to his natural position of right guard...
