We have a young QB starting that can get the ball down field. Lets see what Turner can do and Wilson is probably the worst Saftey in the AFC east (goin easy on the guy), lets let Clemons show us what he can do!

No excuse for not trying players who will be replacing players who are not getting it done.

If only it were so simple. What has Turner done to earn a chance? He certainly didn't do anything in the preseason. And who does he replace? Ginn? Our one true deep threat now that we have a QB that can (maybe) hit him in stride?

I somewhat agree with Clemons, who looked a bit raw, but talented. Wilson is absolutely horrible.

yep

we need a big play wr, henne needs to go down the field flat out

I'd like to see if Patrick Turner can play. We need a big guy for the red zone that's for sure. We need someone who can snag balls out of the air like a superstar NBA rebounder, and then have good quickness and speed for yards after catch. I think of guys like Plaxico Burruss with the Giants (before going to the slammer for gun charges).

Turner was highly touted coming out of high school and he did become a starter at USC. What's the story on Turner? Dropping passes or what?

...and Wake.

While it would send the wrong message to team ("this season is over guys" kind of message) I am all for it.

Replace Wilson with either Culver or Clemons. Maybe even bring Jason Allen in the mix. Again.

Let Patrick Turner play, same with Cameron Wake. Give these guys some playing time. This season is over anyway unless a miracle greater than 2008 will happen. And it won't happen with the guys currently on the field. Do something different, just like last year. If it doesn't work, at least go down trying.........

Agreed - if they truly are worse than Ginn and Wilson then we have big problems.

What I suspect the case is - especially with Chris Clemmons - and what I've been told is that he has trouble grasping the defense. As physically talented as he is, if he can't grasp the D - he might as well be the slowest guy on the planet because he'll be lost out there.

Nah, definitely disagree on Turner. We want the best guys on the field on offense to give Henne the best opportunity.

Hell why not throw Gardner at RT, I mean Carey hasn't been all that this year. Of course u don't do that.

No matter what, we HAVE to keep Ginn as our #1 right now . . . he is the ONLY real speed we have at WR. Camarillo and Bess are both slow (Bess is quick as hell tho) and same with Hartline and Turner. We need a WR who can stretch the field, especially now that we have a QB who can rifle the ball. Honestly this could be a blessing, and even though we more than likely aren't making the playoffs . . . I have a feeling by the end of the year, we potentially could have one of the best offenses in the league.

Think about it . . . the offense has already shown to be a strong running team, ball control offense in its last 2 games . . . and it is still gelling. You add a down the field threat to that, and there is big time potential to keep defenses off balance . . . plus the wildcat. I hope Henne has "it"

I agree with everything you said except the bit on Ginn: he's not a threat. He doesn't "stretch" a defense. Stretching a defense implies you're drawing a Corner and a Safety away from the middle of the field. He doesn't do that - he generally gets single coverage because defenses have figured out that his hands are incredibly unreliable.

Not being argumentative but I can tell you as a FACT, that when a player drops 2 TDs, that does show up in the scouting report the ensuing week for the opposition.

Ginn

I Think Ginn Had A Bad Game Because He Made Those Same Two Catches Against The Jets, One For A Touchdown. He Is A Long Strider He Is The Big Block That Takes A While To Build Up But When It Does Woooohhhh!!!!! Ted Ginn Should Benefit From This Sad Commentary, He Is Our Alvin Harper, We Need Another Vertical Wr, I Only See Slots On Our Team, Thats What Happen At Baltimore. Teams Sat On Our Underneath Stuff, Oh And Penny Had Ted Ginn Deep For 95 Yards I Just Saw It!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember People We Want The Safties To Come Down Thats Why We Need To Max Protect And Go Up Top, Then We Will Have The Run Game!!!!!!!!

The FO isn't stupid. They will put the best guys on the field. We should be calling for people like Clemons and Turner to step it up so that they earn that starting spot.

Agree with the Alvin Harper analogy/comparison. Just like Willie Gault for the Bears a few years ago. If you throw a top-line WR in the mix to go with Bess and Ginn, you would see Ginn catching 60 yard passes at least 8 times a year (unless he drops them). He simply isn't that go-to guy. He's complimentary. While I'm on it... can we PLEASE use Ginn on punt and KO returns??? We have NO breakaway speed with Cobbs. His only attribute is he doesn't fumble.

That necessarily isn't the case. You hear Sparano talk alot about players being able to do "multiple jobs" I assume that Turner likely isn't blowing anyone away in speacial teams. because he certainly cant be any worse than Ginn.

I expect Wilson to be sat down. He has been absolutely awful. Clemens seems like the logical choice there. Or perhaps J. Allen.

But yea.. regardless of how these kids are practicing.. let's see if they can turn it on with the lights on.

Turner and Hartline need to be the go to guys.. If Henne is going to get a shot.. so should these kids. We know what the other receivers can do.
