I disagree. His first start ever. If he learns to check down rather than force the play (or get sacked because he is holding on to the ball too long until something opens up down field) and when to throw the ball away he will be good. I was a tough game for a lot of freshmen.
Canes faces an easy schedule the next three games: UNC, Bethune Cookman, Central Michigan. Just what the doctor ordered. They can work out all the kinks before heading into the meat of the ACC schedule.
If you have to analyze the game I would be a little more concerned about the Gators. Of course it was an in-State rivalry game which has its own rules but we also gifted them a lot of easy plays. We did it because we are young, have a new coaching staff and a new system while the Gators are more experienced and play in the same system for the second year.
Franks is going into his 3rd year and what he did with 4 min to go up by 4 should not ever happen for a 3rd year starting QB.
In the end Gators and Clemson might be our only losses which I can easily live with considering it is a first year coaching staff.
