Today is the day everyone. College basketball is officially back in our lives as of today and we're all the better for it.

Here's the preseason men's polls:

Preseason women's polls:

http://espn.go.com/womens-college-basketball/rankings

My preseason prediction: Unfortunately this is Kentucky's world and we're just living in it. If they don't at least make the Final 4, Calipari must have screwed up somewhere. They're my pick to cut the final nets down.

As for the women, I really like James Madison to cut down the nets. Ha ha, no I'm just kidding. UConn does it again because no one can guard Breanna Stewart.

A few more men's previews/All-American lists/award picks:

UK usually has the most talented team but only has the one title to show for it and that had more to do w/ Carolina's injuries.

I can't wait, should be a great year and welcome to the ACC.

That is true, but this case is different. I've never seen a college basketball team with as much talent on it as this UK team. There's little to no drop off from 1st to 2nd string, with the exception of PG. But the back up is a 5 star so it will likely be fine if the Harrison clone goes down for any extended period of time. The frontline is just too huge and talented.

They are really talented no doubt but they were last year and barely made tourney before going on that great run and they were 2 years ago and didn't make the Tourney. They are the rightful #1 and the favorites but it's not a lock.

UK is platooning the crap out of a good number 5 Kansas team right now. UK is going to be scary when they put it all together.

What does Louisville look like this year? Are they strong as usual?

Ok, just saw that all of the other acc schools won tonight but FSU blew it against Northeastern. WTF? They better get it together or this will be a very long season.

ACC > SEC

Adding Louisville and Syracuse to an already solid BB conference :brewskis:

Yeah that happens when you're using 6 scholarship guys and a walk-on, starting C gets suspended for getting busted with pot, and a starting F can't play because he hurt his wrist and then that Puerto Rican kid catches fire.

Fortunately, college basketball games in November mean very little. Donovan was right though, this isn't a top 10 team. Whatever, Kentucky is gonna go in dry the SEC anyway. This is a sorry-ass basketball conference.

Here's an early AP poll for reference

it's going to be tough to satisfy everyone over a full season. talent wise they are head and shoulders better than everyone but a long way to go.

The ACC has always been better than the SEC in basketball.

Top 10 team for sure but we've got to develop some depth. Right now Rick can comfortably play 7 but he needs 2 more to really make his system work. One of those new 2 could be Shaqquan Aaron if the stupid NCAA would get done looking at his California high school transcripts.

Anas Mahmoud could be the ninth. I skilled 7 foot Egyptian kid that is only 200 lbs. If he can add 10 to 15 lbs by March I think he's playing with fire.

Montrezl Harrell added a 3 point shot to his game over the summer. He is now offically every ACC team's worst nightmare. An absolute monster who broke the U of L record for most dunks in a season last year. He is pure, unadulterated power and he has bad intentions for your basketball team.

Outstanding, beat Duke and NC and I will be thrilled.

We'll see:

Jan 10 @ UNC
Jan 17 Duke
Jan 31 UNC

We're at FSU on Feb 28th, FYI
At UNC will be tough but y'all should win at least one or two of those three. FSU is coming out of the gates inconsistent, as usual. Who knows what you will get there. They will beat Duke then lose to some scrub two days later.
