Those rankings are a little "off"... imho... I wouldn't necessarily put MIA ahead of NYG... and DEN might be ranked a little low for only having 1 loss... And TEN is ranked 22nd with only 1 win??
Make that 5 games against teams in the top 6 and 9 games against teams in the top 13...tough schedule.
Fair ranking I think. Miami is close, but needs to shore up a few weak spots before it can join the elite. We beat the weaker teams regularly which shows good coaching, but can't quite beat the upper echelon which indicates we don't quite have the talent and the elite are able to expose our weaknesses.
The teams that beat us this year all have one thing in common...ability to expose our pass defense in the middle. Gonzalez, Gates, Clark, Shockey...until we improve ILB/S play and of course add some solid WRs we will be right around the middle of the pack. The good news is we are able to compete against the top teams so we don't have too far to go. Just a few more pieces.
