Officiating

Yesterday early in the game we got called on some ticky tack crap...an offensive hold comes to mind i think on James. After that i didnt see too much.

Before yesterday i feel like weve been on the losing end more often than not

We've had plenty of games in the past where the refs absolutely screwed us over. So it was nice to see us get some favorable calls yesterday. Don't expect it to last.

Miami has always gotten flagged ridiculously for BS. Didn't really see that last night. And that Branch hit on Lewan was a thing of beauty when I have seen Lewan do dirtier. That hit may be illegal now but was legal not too long ago. Andre Branch is an aged veteran at this point. You can't teach an old dog new tricks... well you can, but they may forget it from time to time, like branch did.

Total justification though, cause he rocked him. I thought he died for a second... he got up scared as **** and pissed off.

I watched the NFL opener with the Falcons and Eagles and that game was well officiated, but over-officiated to the point where it was almost unwatchable. That's really my concern. All the games I've seen early in the season have been over officiated IMO. Any time you see the head official more than the faces of the franchise that's a problem for the NFL.

I applaud the NFL for attempting to make the game safer for the players, but some of the roughing the passer calls make me wonder how you can tackle the quarterback. Obviously not low at the legs or high at the head/helmet. It's to the point where you might as well give the quarterbacks flags.

I also think the big market teams get the crucial calls. I've seen it over and over with New England. That's my opinion anyway.

I’m still trying to figure out the OV penalty in New England a few years ago. And the fumble in ower end zone vs Pittsburg, where ower guy hands the ball to the ref. But there was no proof we had possession of the ball.

That wasn't even the worst penalty in that game. Jimmy Wilson was called for pass interference against Rob Gronkowski... for stepping in front of Gronk and letting the football hit him between the numbers.

There's a Steelers game that comes to mind. Can't recall exactly, but I'm thinking it was like Ben being credit for a game winning TD at the goal line that wasn't even close and me losing my **** over it. Maybe this was like 2010 or something? Anyone remember?

Ah yeah, thats what I was thinking of!

I think the no call on the crack-back block is a legit complaint. It looked like player went unconscious.

I'm guessing he'll be hit with a fine upon further review.

I don't know, brain damage might be good for Taylor Lewan. Maybe the part of his brain that is supposed to give him some empathy and respect for his fellow human beings will suddenly get activated by the brain bruise. Stranger things have happened.

I hope not, it wasn't a cheap shot and I actually think Branch could've done much worse. He threw a shoulder into Lewan's shoulder within 5 yards of the ball, not across the field or away from the play. That's a big frickin' dude, so next time, don't knock him out, take out his knee? gtfoh
