Here is what i think will happen in the FA period and this years draft. Let me know what you think. And will throw in our FA and if we resign them or not. The key to this IMO is depth and getting guys who fit our system.

Dolphin Free agents
Carey- not signed
Crowder- resigned i know this wont be popular but his role will change and he will be better
Goodman- Resigned
Hill- Resigned
Bell-Resigned

Free Agency- Now i am not gonna put up a dream free agency just what i see as possible targets and why i think they are targets. So sorry no Haynesworth or Asomugha.

Bart Scott- With Suggs and Lewis up as free agents and both will command high money Scott will be the odd man out. Accustomed to the 34 defense could play along side Crowder and since we will have cap space leads me to believe he will be a target this offseason.

Chris Canty- I believe he was drafted by BP so he will def make a serious run at him. This allows him to cut Vonnie and save the cap space for these signings. Again used to a 34 system and can be part of the rotation with Langford, Merling, and Starks as the DE's

Bryant McFadden- A solid addition he is pretty big at 6 foot 190 plays in a 34 system and would be a solid addition to our secondary could be part of a rotation of cb's. plays on the best D in the NFL wouldnt hurt to bring him in. A solid player nothing flashy but a hard worker would fit in on this team

Jordan Gross- Call me crazy i just think that Carolina cant keep him. They tagged him last season and they have a few guys they will probably extend like Williams and they have Peppers among others to sign. He would slide into Carey's vacated spot and be a stud RT for the run game. If he hits the market look for BP to go after him as hard as he can.

Thats all for the free agency period i just think we get some people to fit into roles and add depth to our roster. I will now do the draft AGAIN this is not what i want this is what i think BP will do to improve this team so sorry if its not all that sexy.

2009 Draft

1st Round
26th- Clint Sintim DE/OLB UVA 6-4 254 perfect fit to play SLB reminds me alot of Demarcus Ware. With Joey on the weak side and channing and scott holding down the middle i thnk he will be open to make alot of plays as a rookie his athleticism gets him on the field day one. Plays for a BP decipile Groh in his 34 system and knows how to get to the QB.

2nd round
45th-(skins) Max Unger C Oregon 6-5 300 versatile linemen will play center on this team sliding Satele over to guard to compete with Thomas and add depth to a line that needs it.

58th- Herman Johnson OG LSU 6-7 349- Let the bashing begin here. I know we need other things but with Satele's future in doubt atleast in my mind. Thomas and Smiley coming off injury and the fact Bill Parcells and Jeff Ireland dont give a rats *** about what we think i see them taking the HUGE guard here to sure up this line to be dominant. Would at worst be a backup and probably will earn the starting gig for the right side over the Thomas. Yes we would have 2 rookie starters on the line again but both these guys would be better than what we had for most of this year. This adds more depth to the line whre we could use a rotation and run the ball 60times a game which is who we are.

3rd round
88th- Scott McKillop MLB Pitt 6-2 240- Extremely hard worker very smart seems to be at the right place at the right time and a straight up tackling machine. Understudy and another backup to add to the rotation of the LB's and gets to learn from two pretty good guys. Will never stop working and is blue collar i think he is a great fit for this team and will help add to the depth of our defense.

4th round
123rd- Ron Brace DT Boston College 6-3 324- BP doesnt like to take his NT's early but he grabs one here. Is on the same line as BJ Raji so is outshined at times but like that whole BC defense is a tough and a hard worker. Give him a year to learn the position from Fergie and i think we will all be pleasantly surprised with how he turns out.

5th Round
154th- Morgan Trent CB Michigan 6-0 188- Here we go we finally address the secondary through the draft. Adding Trent is steal at this point as far as i am concerned. he has good ball skills and makes good breaks on the ball. Needs to bulk up some and work on him jam at the line but will have time to learn.

I dont know the picks here but i am sure they will be D and O line picks to add depth maybe a RB in there to.

Sorry it isnt sexy but these picks make us a much better team. I know i didnt get a Wide receiver and you can yell at me all you want but only 2 of the 8 teams remaining in the playoffs have BIG receivers and only one team Arizona are they the primary target. London, Ginn, Camarillo, and Bess are fine our problem is we could never get a run game going and when we did we kicked some ***. This draft and offseason makes up bigger stronger and meaner and i think will make this team a much more serious threat looking at our schedule next season this would be the best draft IMO for us to be where we were this season.

What do you think?

I like it a lot. Clint Sintim is from Virgina not FSU. I like the ron brace pick. I dont know if he will last until the 4th tho. But with the 2nd pick in the 2nd we need a WR. A big playmaker. Nicks or Britt or Bey if they are still there. I like the free agents signing too. Gross would be good and mcfadden as well.

I dont see this FO using a pick to get a receiver. They want to run the ball and unless there is a Crabtree available at our spot we wont take a WR. I think we bulk up the line and get ready to run the ball like crazy and use play action as the primary pass option no matter who the qb is. A big playmaker isnt needed he have playmakers. Like i said only one of the remaining teams on the playoffs use big WR's as their primary option. This draft will help us stop the run and be able to run the ball better thats what wins championships.

you are on the money(I hope)

sounds like we want to keep building from the inside out

a stud NT and a stud C are hopefully a bigger priority that a WR

The additions to the line should help alot and with the additions to the LB core should allow us to blitz more which would help us out alot.

The way to win the ring is to stop the run which this would do and run which this offseason and draft should let us do.

our DL would look like this
DE- Canty, Merling
NT- Ferguson, Brace
DE- Langford, Starks

and our LB would look like this
WLB- Porter, Anderson
MLB- Crowder, Aydeole
MLB- Scott. McKillop
SLB- Sintim, Roth

Now that Dline and Lb core would def stop the run

and an oline of
Long
Smiley
Unger
Johnson
Gross

With backups like
Satele, Thomas, Alleman and others

with that line we should be able to run the ball like crazy.

I hope Donald Thomas recovers, he would be my choice for RG next year

Plays for a BP decipile Groh in his 34 system and knows how to get to the QB.
The only question I have is his motivation to play. He takes plays off and he is quick to let others make the play. He definitely has the tools to be dominate in the league, but I question his motivation. Not a bad choice, but I would not pick him this high.

2nd round
45th-(skins) Max Unger C Oregon 6-5 300 versatile linemen will play center on this team sliding Satele over to guard to compete with Thomas and add depth to a line that needs it.
Unger is a good choice, but I would take Jonathan Luigs. Just a matter of opinion.

This adds more depth to the line whre we could use a rotation and run the ball 60times a game which is who we are.
I like the pick. Definitely fits the smash mouth mold. We'll have to ask the Center to pull because he does not have the ability. There is only one Center in the league that is good at this, Kevin Mawaii, but there are probably others. Good choice.

The guy has got has got great instincts, but is very limited athletically. I would not draft him.

If we can't get B.J. Raji in the first, reshuffle and getting Brace here would be a excellent decision. While he doesn't get the press that that Raji gets, he definitely has the ability to play in the league. He does seem to follow Raji's lead. He needs to tap into more of his God-given ability. But in the 4th, which is a reasonable value, this is probably the best pick in the draft.

Anything after the 4th rd. is a crap shoot. Trent is a good pick if he is still there.

I dont know the picks here but i am sure they will be D and O line picks to add depth maybe a RB in there to.
Here are my picks for the 7th:
7a. Patrick Turner WR(6'5" 220)
Second to Fred Davis in recieving yards in '07. He had 48rec./569yds. and 3 TDs in '07. He had 49rec./741yds. and 10 TDs in '08. He is a big reciever from USC, hopefully he can turn out better than Mike Williams.
clear.gif

7b. C.J. Spillman S(6'0" 193)
Senior safety and prolific tackler at Marshall. If nothing else he would be a ST contributor.
7c. Jeremy Perry OG(6'2" 329)
All-Pac 10 in 2006 at OSU. Had a leg injury in 2007 that sidelined him for much of the '08 season too. He is a project, but if he can comeback we will have a pretty good football player.

I know what you mean about Sintim but i know the LT for UNC and he says he is freaking good. I am not worried about his taking plays off i think he knows he was going pro and UVA wasnt very good i think he will blow up at the combine and propellhimself into the late first round. He is the most polished SLB and wouldnt need much work. But good insight.

Yeah the Unger things i jus think we need the best center at this point and the reason i chose Unger was his versatility

Johnson pick HELLZ YEA this boy could move some earth and i think he could win a starting job

McKillop is the only one i really disagree with you i think he is a high motor guy and a tackling machine when you play the run stuffer in the 34 you dont need to be overly athletic because you really only hold gaps between the tackles and the Big east has some great athletes running around and he caught them all. Another Zach Thomas if you may just bigger.

I totally agree Brace at this point fills a HUGE need with a great talent. Will need some polishing but could be a major factor sooner then later.

Trent could start as a ST guy and work towards the Nickel and Dime packages early and if he beefs up could crack the starting rotation after a year or two but can contribute in other ways till then. He has such good ball skills with alittle weight he could be a safety as well with his size and speed would be an option.

I like your 7th rounders it seems as if you have the same idea of adding depth as well as filling needs.

Got any opinions on the free agent pick ups?

i don't think Hill and Crowder will get resigned, but i could be wrong...either way,we'll need to get FS...i'm surprised you didn't put a FS in there anywhere, and a ballhawking FS at that....

I was under the impression they were already in negotiations with Hill.....Well if we could get a pick for Vonnie i think we would get a FS. But I think this unit could get sufficient pressure enough to make our guys look pretty good. I think an offseason in the system and Culver may develop.

Safeties and Wide outs are such luxury picks and we arent quite there IMO. But we may look for a safety in the 7th and Trent has the size to play back there if he put on a few pounds could be that ball hwaking guy you want. Trent has very good ball skills

the reason i mentioned FS is because that position is still a Secondary position as we all know, and we all know that we need Secondary help as well as help in our trenches...

Im rooting for Raji as our 1st rounder, the DT from BC. Ive seen him play and he is the type of stud we need at NT. As for 2nd round, why not look at Heyward Bey from UMD. Great size and great speed.
