SHIELDS RETIRED OVER MONEY?​

A league source tells us that Will Shields has announced his retirement for one primary reason -- money.​

As in Shields wanted more of it, and the team wasn't inclined to give it to him.​

Per the source, Shields recently said that he is willing to play at least two more seasons.​

It remains to be seen whether Shields' retirement results in more money, or whether the Chiefs will let him walk.

Hmmmm, thats odd.....
I live in KC and Shields said that after all these years, his body
couldn't take the pounding of another NFL season...
He was gonna retire LAST years, but was talked out of it by
Willy Roaf...... Who ,weeks after talking Shields out of
retirement, retired himself....

Well if Derrick Dockery got a 7yr 49 mill contract that means that Will is worth easily 10 mill a year in guard standards.....Dockery more then likely wont even get half the PB's that Shields has got.

Cant say as i blame him if this is the case.

Actually, I was thinking ship them Shelton and a 7th for Green, the rights to Shields, and their 6th.

Will Shields sounds like a great pick up.... put can he last another season? I remember how much better our running game was picking up Jamie Nails back in 2002 I think?? Two dominating guards would be great for Ricky and Ronnie in the running game ...and yeah assuming Ricky gets re-instated
