The Dolphins didn't get much closer to signing defensive end Adewale Ogunleye to a new contract Tuesday, but they will have him around the team tonight.
Ogunleye is expected to attend the team's annual kickoff banquet at the Signature Grand in Davie, where he is also expected to be given the team's Most Valuable Player award for the 2003 season.
On Tuesday, Ogunleye was again absent as the team opened its fourth offseason camp. Ogunleye hasn't attended any of the offseason camps or training sessions as agent Drew Rosenhaus works on a long-term deal for him.
Rosenhaus said he and the team held further discussions Tuesday regarding Ogunleye. Although there was no significant progress, Rosenhaus said the talks remain ``positive.''
''Nothing significant came out of it other than we agreed to keep working at it,'' said Rosenhaus, who also is working on an extension for tight end Randy McMichael and on a deal for fourth-round pick Will Poole, a cornerback.
