We are not as bad as some of you doomsayers think.

Ricky looked great, Morris looked good.

Gus threw some nice balls, overthrew Thompson on what would have given us nice field position.

Chambers and Boston looked great, what a catch by Chris!

Defense was awesome, Leftwich was punked repeatedly.

AJ threw a tighter spiral than Gus did, of course it was picked, but the WR (Newson?) made zero attempt to get the ball. Later in the game a WR from J'ville took an INT from us, and actually made the catch. I don't blame AJ for that. Remember this is the THIRD offensive system he's been in the past 3 years. That's a TALL order. I still say he will be fine.

Let the bashing begin...

Maybe its just me ...but Leftwich looks slow? I think he needs to gain more flexibility, speed/quickness and drop a few pounds?

No bashing from here, but I just find it funny that when Frerotte overthrows a ball he gets scrutinized... however when AJ overthrows the ball in double coverage, its the recievers fault.

Agree but the Int was well over thrown and Newson didnt have a chance at breaking it up.

He didn't even raise his arms, he has to at least TRY.

You forgot to add that while Gus enjoyed good protection and a solid running game with the first team, AJ did not...but those are the breaks..I think AJ will be better for us this year than Gus, but we'll see how it works out..

That was a very disturbing play to watch because Newson didn't have the high gear like Chambers or Gilmore...who would have accellerated to make the catch. That type of play is what will make or break a WR when he doesn't show the aggressive attitude to go for the ball.

Had Chambers been on the field, that would have been a beautiful play. Hense, the obvious frustration from Feeley.

Randy Moss even with his height an vertical couldnt have jumped within a foot of that ball......he did the right thing and got ready to make a tackle he jumpes and whiffs.....which would have happened and maybe he returns it to our 20.

Double coverage your WR doesnt have a step you check off dont just throw it up there.

Lat game evryone was gripping about AJ having to play with a bad oline the first stringers and not is other way around....AJ had the bad second stringers...need to be a bit more consistent with your analysis of the oline. P.S Stockar got beat bad and sacked Gus and AJ was hardly touched FYI

Leftwich is a bust. He will never live up to his pre draft hype.

No bashing for me. I feel we have to improve gradually in pre season games and start winning by the end of them. We will compete this season better than last IMO. How we will do is up in the air for me tho at this juncture. Certainly with Ronnie supposedly signing today as ive read will be a welcome addition. another jigsaw piece will be added.

NICE EVALUATION AND I PRETTY MUCH FEEL THE SAME. I THINK IT IS EARLY AND THE LEARNING CURVE WILL GO DEEP INTO THE SEASON.Gus will get the nod and saban will use this season to evaluate all players. AJ will only get playing time when and if GUS gets nicked up and Sage will be the #2 guy in my feeling.
