Do we really have even a chance to beat the Falcons in Atlanta for their home opener with the weapons that they have? I am so scared of this game. I want the Fins to win this game so badly but I can literally feel the doom that is coming in week 1. Someone please talk me out of these feelings!!

In the NFL, every team has a chance. If we play as well as we are capable of playing, we can win. If we play like we did vs Tampa Bay, they will beat us by 4 TDs.

Of course we have a chance. They have a few weapons....well so do we. And we have a superior defense. They are a good team, but dont forget we are too. We have a smart QB who will make the right calls and a defense with a nice blend of age and youth that will unleash IMO a very effective pass rush. Atlanta's line does well run blocking but are average at pass protection. We have a good chance to win.

Of course we have a chance. It will no doubt be a very tough game, but we have a good chance of winning. No one game us a chance against the Patriots last September and we blew them out.

I'm sort of with you man. It's one of those games where usually the Fins get either predictably embarrassed OR less frequently, somehow surprisingly kick some serious ***. Right now I'm feeling like it's going to be the first. Our #2 corner is young and will make some rookie mistakes and the Falcon's WR corps is quite good, our safeties have looked poor in covering TEs (hello, Tony), and though we can stop the run, stopping Turner (a tackle-breaking machine) is a different story.

The good news is our O should be able to handle their D, but can we keep up?

I just don't feel a close one - this one will be decided early, one way or the other.

I think the wildcat surprise got to them more than our standard offense.

The Falcons game will be our test...if the Dolphins can beat them there..it will help thru out the season...but it won't be a easy game!!

im still curious on the Fatchirstyalley name.. did we ever get an answer to whats with the obsession?

im nervous about this game. very nervous. It would be so damn awesome to go back home for our home opener on MNF against Peyton and the Colts having defeated Atlanta!! I want that so bad..

The Dolphins defense must make Atlanta's offense commit a couple of mistakes early.

We need to throw them off their rhythm on offense by pressuring Ryan, maybe get a tipped pass and a turnover.

We need to do something early and do whatever it takes to cause some Atlanta mistakes. We must disrupt their offensive rhythm early to set doubt in their minds, and give our team confidence early.. If the Dolphins don't do that early, I have a feeling it will be a long day.

That Randy Starks turnover was big against NE last year as they were on a 10 play drive deep in our end to start the game. And Paul Soliai's forced fumble that JP recovered against BAltimore early is something we will need against Atlanta.

We must dictate to Atlanta early, not have them dictate to us.

Then we need some long drives on offense to keep Atlanta's offense off of the field.. A tall order, I know, but it's possible.

I fear Atlanta more than I fear Indy.

I'm of the opposite mindeset. Indy scares me more than Atlanta.

When Manning is on the field they are always dangerous. Atlants I think is far more dependant on the running game setting up the pass.

Don't fear either of them. Atlanta has some good weapons on their offense but their defense shouldn't scare anyone here. This is a very winnable game as is the home opener against the Colts. I am anxious to see how well we play against N.O. this week, I know it will mainly be 2nd and 3rd string guys, I just want to see how they look as far as intensity. They clearly didn't have that against Tampa.

I think we will see our team play allot like they did vs Tampa. By that I mean it will be an ugly slugfest of a game. I know everyone feels we should blow the doors off of teams we are supposed to beat but that just has not been this teams personality..... or at least it wasn't a year ago. We play close games and we have been good at winning them under this regime. Hopefully this year our running game can be better and we can win games without them being close. I will admit that I am an eternal optimist..... I always think we can win..... not that we will win, but that we can. I think our defense will look much better when we actually game plan for a team. IMO this first game the edge will go to who ever can run the ball the best. Hopefully that will be us.

This sounds like a standard recipe we'll need for a number of games this year. I agree the above turn of events would enhance our possibilities a lot, but we've also got to be strong under fire (when things aren't going per the script) and most importantly win in the 4th quarter.

Indy looks far different without Harrison. Will that game be easy...no...but I don't see Manning lighting it up either, like he did in the past.
