Basically, this season is a waste. Ok, so we're due for a high draft pick. We need to start building through the draft. I say groom a young qb, and draft linemen in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. If our draft pick isn't high enough where the top qbs can fall in our laps, let's draft linemen. We have seen in this league so far that OL makes so much of a difference regardless of the talent you have around you. (Pittsburgh, NE, Minnesota) (Seattle, Arizona, KC on the bad side of it this year) Even though OL is so important we can't pass on a young QB. We can't turn this year around, but everyones acting like the franchise is doomed. We aren't doomed or in trouble. We will be just fine. We need to build through the draft, and who knows? We could make the playoffs sooner than you think. Look at Chicago's turn around last year. Look at New Orleans this year. Teams get good really quickly. We are obviously not too far away from being good, otherwise we wouldnt have been picked so high preseason. It's just a bump in the road, we will bounce back. Patience is virtue. Blowing off steam is ok too :):dolphins: :dolphins:

A season is never a waste. And we won't be drafting a QB in round one, unless Culpepper's football career suddenly comes into question like Ricky Williams' did a few years ago.

This season is too much of reminder of how 2004 was starting off. Expectations were so high and to have them at one win at this point is tough to swallow.
I still take joy in watch Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor, Kevin Carter and even Ronnie play in a Dolphins uniform, you never know when their time is up either salary capwise or from injury. #54 & #99 are two of the best to ever play for this franchise....I can at least enjoy them each week

WOW, a voice of reason.

i agree and ill take it a step further and say that a qb is out of the question at all, unless we get a steal late in the draft. we just have too many needs at other positions to take a QB this year.

Culpepper's career is already in question man...

If you ever venture to the draft forum, you'll see me say the same thing about not drafting a QB at all in 2007

Not by the coaching staff. And that's what matters. Certainly not mine or your opinion.

I say when we fire Nick now or 10 years from now let's try an "offensive guy" for head coach. Jimmy, Wanny, and Nicky are all defensive guys and it seems every year we've had to hold our breath waiting for the ritual changing of offensive coordinator's. it's been about 10 years now and it's startin' to get old. I'd like to see Saban leave and replace him with a "young" offensive minded guy... not Mularkey though.

defense wins championships. nick will be here a long time. our offense was fine last year with linehan. the problem was bringing in mularkey and not some "young offensive minded guy" to be our coordinator. the problem was not locking linehan up and allowing him to interview with other teams, we should have signed him to a deal that would have kept him here to groom a guy like jason garett. that was waynes fault not nicks.

Defense doesn't win championships. Offense and Defense combo wins championships. I didn't know that Chicago won the championship last year. I didn't know that Denver won the championship last year.

No, Pittsburgh won the championship. And NE before that.

It needs to be a combo of both to win championships. Need to get off the slogans man.

correct me if im wrong (which im not) but werent both belichick and cowher former D-coordinators? the steelers offense ranked 16th, while their D ranked 4th. the seahawks d ranked 17th thier offense was 2nd. thanks for helping me make my point.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Bellicheck a head coach for two seperate teams before becoming the Pats head coach? He didn't have a winning team with either of those first two teams either.

Also, when the Rams won the super bowl, thier defense wasn't exactly dominant, but thier offense was. Defense wins games; offense puts buts in the seats; some degree of balance, near mistake free play(at least less mistakes than your opponent), and teamwork/toughness/resiliency often wins championships.
