I like to bring up this topic right now because It is a huge concern for us heading into next season. Here's my theory, Our personal will evaluate Culpepper prior to the 2007 NFL Draft and see what he can do and if he gets cleared to play in 2007. Furthermore, while Joey has been decent at best he is nothing more than a backup in the NFL. Period. This leads to Cleo Lemon, I say give the kid a chance to play, unless we acquire a Jeff Garcia or Matt Shaub (doubt it) give him a shot. It's sad to say but it's looking more and more that Culpepper and Harrington are done in Miami. While it hurts, it's a blessing in disquise. Miami should have at least drafted a qb every draft since Marino has retired. I don't care if it would have been the last pick in the 7th round. TRY something. I really think Cleo Lemon will be our opening day starter unless we sign or trade for a highly touted QB. I really think Cam Cameron can really make any quarterback into a servicable player. I just don't think Joey and Daunte are fit for this team now. Mark my words, they are both gone. Your Thoughts?

Dante isn't going anywhere because nobody knows how he is going to turn out so cutting him prematurely won't go over well. I don't think they are going to be able to evaluate Dante that much because as he said he's not going to start rehabbing until March. Joey has much more of a chance of being cut than Cleo does because he's proven that he still sucks regardless of the team he's on. We do however need to take a shot at a QB somewhere in the draft so we at least have a QB developing somewhere on the roster.

Daunte Culpepper is our QB.

It's amazing how this board keeps acting as if there's a QB controversy on this team. There isn't. Culpepper is our guy, regardless of what happens in the draft or free agency. We're not getting rid of him, and we certainly aren't starting Cleo Lemon or a rookie QB ahead of him. He's here to stay.

Oh boy, here come all the Cleo Lemon and Marcus Vick are our future posts.

Barring unforseen moves the new staff may make, as it stands now, the only hope we have for next year is Culpepper.

If he comes back to be at least a decent option we'll be ok, if not were in for a very long year.

As a knowledgeable fan of my team, I have to really disagree with your statement. Did you actually see Daunte Culpepper in the pocket this year? He looked and ran like a 300 pound offensive lineman. This guy is no way near being ready and frankly Do you want him as your qb? While this is old news, But did you hear Saban acknowledge how he thought his knee wasnt the problem, It was his head that was the problem. The guy is not the same qb he once was in Minnesota. This team and fan base need to get over it and move on!! Have you ever torn your knee? It takes a full 2 years recovery and even then your not going to be 100 percent again. It's time to say goodbye to Daunte. Yes he was great in Minnesota and not because of Moss, He knew how to play. He is mentally broken down. I wouldnt doubt it that he is suffering more in his head than his knee right now. He has taken alot!! As far as the QB of the Miami Dolphins...No way....This team will go nowhere with him at the helm

Ultimately, I do think that Culpepper will be named our starter but we still really don't know what wer'e going to get from him this season. I believe that we will cut Harrington because of the way he cannot consistently play up to his potential and keep Lemon as our backup. That leaves us with a far from ideal quarterback situation going into next season and I think that Cameron will be interested in drafting a quarterback relatively high in the draft. I doubt we have a real shot at Quinn or Russell but just like every other year there will probably a quarterback who shoots up the draft boards that will fall into our laps. Whether or not we draft a quarterback (I doubt it) in round 1 remains to be seen but I would be surprised if we did not draft one in the top 3 rounds. I think our quarterback situation will look like this:

1. Culpepper
2. Lemon
3. Highly touted rookie

Wow, and I thought I was the only one who was aware of this. (Okay, there are a few others who see the light as well, but they are far and few between.)

Daunte was a great quarterback before the injuries. He hasn't played a healthy game since that phenomenal season in 2004 and the results have shown decline. Give the man a chance to play healthy again and watch him take us to the promise land.

He was healthy right after the 2004 season and he played like crap. I really hope he some how comes back to form because we have invested too much in him.

I say go the Mangini route and make it an open competition. Cameron should start the season without making anyone the definite starter, let the best man win even if it's a rookie.

Well, yeah, except he was injured....

Culpepper, playing with a sprained medial collateral ligament and bursitis in his right knee since being injured in the season opener, has thrown 10 interceptions and only four touchdown passes. Last season, he had 11 interceptions during the entire 16-game campaign.

For most of the season, Daunte Culpepper hasn't discussed a knee problem that has been hampering his performance. Monday, on the heels of the third loss in four games to open the season, Culpepper admitted that his knee injury is partially to blame for his ineffectiveness.

Culpepper admitted that he has a strained medial collateral ligament in his right knee as well as bursitis, which has led to his inability to play pain-free.

VU has been told the surgery isn't needed at this time and Culpepper said Monday that he's willing to play through the pain as long as he can.

Joey will be cut, and C-PEP is the starter. With Lemon, and a drafted QB competing for #2 role.

For god's sake, let's hope we don't have to listen to that crap again this year. Who am I kidding, this is Finheaven, I'm suprised they haven't started already!!!

Steve Nash will QB the Dolphins next year and we win the super bowl.
