We need two new starting safeties, Travares Tillman stinks and Renaldo Hill has been equally pitiful (although Hill has not screwed up as much). We need to start Yeremiah Bell at strong and Jason Allen at free, I don't care if Allen isn't ready because he can't possibly be as bad as Tillman. Bell is a good coverage guy who makes plays here and there and we have to start to see some results from the first rounder we invested in Allen because I haven't seen him on the field once. Wer'e 1-3 and our secondary is playing pretty bad, namely our safeties, I don't see why we shouldn't start Allen and Bell.

I think the coaches decide who starts and who backs up for good reasons. It may stink with Hill and Tillman but evidently it would stink worse with Bell and Allen. Unless you believe Saban and the defensive coaches are all morons they are playing the best possible players. Eventually, because of his raw natural ability and skills Allen will be the starter. Lets wait until Saban deems the time is right.

yea i def agree that yeremiah bell should start, hes def one of the most underrated players on the team who always hits hard and is a ball hawk, i believe he should certainly start over tilman however im not as sure about jason allen starting over hill because if allen does start it will take a while before we see any slight improvement over hill

i agree. what do we even have safeties for? they do nothing

I am still curious about why we got rid of lance schulters he was pretty solid for us last year im not saying hes great or a savior but he is definately better than wha we have right now.

I agree that Bell and Allen should be starting. Or at least one of them, replacing Tillman. I would have to imagine that Saban knows his players though and has the best 2 out there. Although it is beyond me why Bell is not out there. He seems to posess more big play ability than Tillman. I'd like to see Bell start alongside Hill. I think Hill is pretty good in run support, and I think Bell would be better in pass coverage, he seems to be pretty fast and has a knack for blitzing and the big play. If anything the guy with the most potential should be playing, because right now we're still getting the mental mistakes, but I feel the players we have in are at their peak performance level.

The other options are we pick up Lance Shulters and Troy Vincent

We never should have let Schulters go in the first place...another bad move by Saban IMO.

Where's Sammy Night, Tebucky Jones and Lance Shulters when you need them?

i never understood why bell never starts i went to the bucs game last year and he was the one player that really stood out to me as for allen the games i seen of him ....well.....i didn't see anything special about him other than he tries hard and is a pretty good tackler there is no signs of a sean taylor (hitter physical) or a ed reed (ball hawk) but let's hope i am wrong

Bell just needs to start plain and simple. I think he is the best athlete we have at the S position. And he knows how to and can blitz effectively.

ya i agree i like bell everytime hes on the field it seems like hes making a play.
