Here's a run down from what I saw, and what PFF saw. All had good overall grade, except Martin.

McKinnie gave up 1 sack, 2 hits, and 0 hurries, while playing well on the run. VG game from the former Cane coming home with little practice time. It is amazing to see this 6'8" 364 pound mountain vs a DE who looks so small.

Cog gave up 2 sacks, 0 hits, and 0 hurries. He had a couple of bad plays but was adjusting to a new LT. Good Game.

Pouncey gave up 0 sacks, 1 hit, and 0 hurries. He is back to his former self and had a VG game.

Jerry gave up NOTHING in pass protect, and had his best game after having his best game last week before this one. Everyone should get off his case, and if you watched him the past two weeks, you would.

Martin struggled in giving up 1 sack, 2 hits, and 3 hurries. He is also the only guy on the OL to have a negative grade on the run and overall. This is a concern but, have to give him a bit of time (not much) to prove he belongs.

*Miller gave up 1 sack, 0 hits, and 1 hurry. DT had a clean slate in pass protect, and RT was given a hit for holding the ball too long (4 seconds for PFF). I would have given him 2 sacks.

Agree or disagree?

I didn't notice Martin struggling that badly. The one thing I was wondering, who was it that was SUPPOSED to be blocking on that FG attempt? I've never seen such a poor attempt at blocking at any level higher than high school.

There was one play in the first half in which Martin's man beat him badly, about as badly as Mario Williams beat Clabo, and Tannehill had gotten the ball out so quickly that it didn't matter.

Again, Martin is just as bad as Clabo but gets a pass on here because folks are holding out he becomes a future piece. Understandably, but call it what it is. McKinnie at 34 years old with one week of practice is better than John Martin. We should have never started the season with him at LT. He was never any kind of an answer and will probably not be at RT either. I laugh hysterically when I think of the posters saying the Albert trade and attempt to re-sign Jake Long were pre-draft smoke screens and Martin was the plan all along at LT. HAHAHA C'mon now!

McKinnie is 34? He can still play for 2 more years....we definitely need to sign him for 2 or maybe 3 years. Incognito and Pouncey can stay, as they are consistent. Jerry is getting better, but is inconsistent. Thus, Right Tackle is a pressing need for us in the next draft (but can be had in the 2nd round). Our first rounder has to go to a linebacker. Get an OG in the 3rd or 4th round.

I think that's fair enough. I think we held up decently well. Hopefully Richie gets used to his new teammate to the left. Maybe Martin improves at RT??

But indeed, I think most of the blame on this game goes to abandoning the run and the result was Tannehill getting murdered in the 2nd half and he then played terribly along with it. I still have faith in him and the team for the future, but this season is getting out of control. We need some kind of crazy rebound to get fans back on our side. Sherman needs to go though

The thing that bothers me is that we knew Martin was not the answer this year at LT BUT, did nothing about it, and left RT get killed. Hope Ross and Ireland enjoy the saved cap space.

1st half great ....2nd half suck. These grades mean nothing compared to wins and losses. The game in the 2nd half was a total fail on everyone's part.

Size is really important at tackle. I tend to underrate that. Over the years I've seen many very tall college tackles who struggle athletically and I've dismissed their pro chances but then they make it. All they have to do is mature a little bit and suddenly they are a load to deal with. The difference between 6-5 or 6-6 and 6-8 is considerable at offensive tackle. The defensive end is overwhelmed and engulfed on so many plays, like it's an unfair fight among two different species. That was McKinnie yesterday. He can lose ability to to age, and vary his intensity level, but the sheer size enables him to compete and often thrive.

I think we'll see an increase in 6-8 type basketball players who aren't NBA caliber but they are more than capable of handling offensive tackle in the NFL. There's absolutely no reason that trend applies to tight end alone.

Overall I was pleased with the offensive line yesterday. They collapsed parallel with the shell shocked nature of the team as a whole, once we fell behind. But the signs were there for the first time all year.

Jerry, IMO, is still vulnerable. He's going to regress to the mean in the next few games. I'd expect the line to struggle early in the Cincinnati game. Martin looked identical to how he performed at right tackle last year. He has to work harder on that side and it's obviously not natural for him. Our running game is somewhat handicapped because everything needs to go left or up the middle. Right is not likely to succeed, which has been the case all season.

McKinney surprised me. He had his arms extended on almost every play...something I have never seen Martin or Clabo do, which leads me to wonder what our coaches are teaching. Overall, our line played good enough for us to win yesterday. This loss was not on them.

bingo...

awsi nailed it...that oline looked like a unit yesterday...they crumbled late like the entire team but when that game was in the balance they balled out...

mckinnie was outstanding for a first game starter with us...that sack the blown assignment a big play obviously but excusable right now at least...i was thinking that today i don't care what we do this offseason i would be bringing back mckinnie if he can give us anywhere near that next year...don't get dumb and depend on some unproven rookie next year keep this vet as a fallback at minimum...

i thought mckinnie was like 37...34 with the legs and kick slide i see bring that back

Yeah McKinnie was never beaten physically yesterday, that to me is the biggest positive to come from the game. Why didn't we just pay him more than Baltimore in the offseason. These guys really honestly thought we'd be OK with Martin at LT with a straight face? How come 100% of Finheaven knew going to Martin at LT was a mistake and Ireland did not? He was even getting eaten alive in practice and we rolled with it anyway. Everyone thought Omar was being a prick in his camp reports by following up every nice completion we had with, "but it would have been a sack". Looks like he wasn't making **** up afterall.
