I remember that last year Lance Briggs said he would like to play in Miami, my question is, could we drop Joey and pick up Briggs without serious complications?

I like Joey but he is grossly overpaid, and even though Briggs would demand a big contract I think he would produce more and ask for less money, if he wouldn't then of course we shouldn't pick him up.

I know we have bigger areas of need like the D line and secondary, but I was just wondering if it this even an option. Our linebackers were atrocious this year especially Channing Crowder, I like Crowder and I honestly think it was his inexperience at MLB that helped him get owned on every play, but what transpired this season showed me that we definitely need another linebacker whether OLB or MLB.

I would guess that he is too small

perhaps we should go hard after Dansby

No.

Joey is staying in Miami. He started to come on in the ladder part of the year becuase they finally had him play as an OLB, not covering TE's and crap.

Then forget about cutting Joey but what about the Middle position?

A MLB with concussion issues isn't too reliable, and I would hate to see Channing Crowder play another season so woefully.

Dropping Porter for Briggs would be like trading in a benz for a toyota. Briggs is a complimentary LB, while Porter is a better more experienced model, IMO.

I think we keep JP since we're most likely going back to the 3-4. Now, instead of dropping him back to cover a TE, we can use him for what he's good at - getting to the QB. I think JP and JT are going to have pretty good years next year, so long as they're utilized in the right way.

just remember we do have a draft for mlb's. i tink wee will go after beau bell or jonathan goff for the mlb spot. they are both big LB (BP kind of LB) look for them to be picked in the 3rd round-4th

wont happen this team will be in a 3-4 next year and our lbs will be taylor crowder thomas(if he plays) and porter and porter will earn his money because he will be back in the system that made him great

crowder is fine, just not at MLB. he did great at ROLB and you all know it. the same people that are here talking sh1t about him this year were on his jock last year. please no sack and pick stats, ok? tackles people, tackles. remember zach - not a lot of sacks and picks - but tons of tackles. zach isnt going anywhere - wouldnt get enough for him and not enough interest. so it should look something like this:

ROLB: crowder
ILB: bell
ILB: thomas
LOLB: porter

in this scenario, i want porter to blitz 75% of the time. crowder is better in coverage b/c he gets blocked so easily when blitzing. bell is a beast - would like to see some serious blitzing out of him also if we get him.
