Olindo Mare has been on the Dolphins for 10 years. He is a fan favorite and a personnel Favorite. I really do not want to see him leave the team, although it seems that there is no other way than out. I REALLY hope they keep in until training camp and he shows he still has a leg and Literally kicks the poop out of the competition.
We will see what happens. Feely is a good kicker I just to hate to part ways with him.

He had his chance to take a paycut and stay on board, he chose not to. Cam has already laid down the law, if you're not earning your pay, you're gone. I personally like how Cam is handling things. The only kicker that needs to make big money is Vinatari, and his time will come to pass too.

It's hard to say good-bye after 10 years. I like Mare as well, but the fact is, he has struggled over the past several years and he is not the same FG kicker that made us fall for. Points is what wins games, not touchbacks.

I have always liked Mare also, we just cant have another year of 10 missed feild goals, it killed us last year, he missed so many important ones. If both of them are around for training camp which i doubt, it will be interesting to see who gets it. I would prefer Mare if he can perform like he used to but as of right now and last year, Feely is better.

I as well like Mare. However, they say the NFL is a business. And in business its bad to pay for lack of production.

Yes, in the past he was a monster for us. But the past 2 years we have seen him decline. The first bad year, I said it might be just an off year for him. But when one year turns into two, etc. Well its time to look to someone that can do the job.

Us as fans like the familiarity, but as a business you can't look at the person, only at the output vs. the pay. And lately, he hasn't done it.

I wish him well, and at the same time hope we get a draft pick out of him.

feely is an amazing kicker and im glad we got him but we now cant rely on olindo he will make and miss average kicks

He has missed many kicks over the last few years. Time to move on

I agree!!! I remember going to Mile High Stadium and watching Mare beat the Broncos with a last second kick, but he has been way too inconsistent, and is not willing to take a pay cut. Sorry Olindo but it's time for you to move on....thanks for some decent moments. I would have preferred drafting Mason Crosby, but I think Feely is a solid kicker and he doesn't tent to hook gimme 30 yarders like Mare does.

I like Olindo, I've defended him a lot on these boards. But he missed 10 field goals this year. Because of him, we missed out on 30 points. 30 points.

MARE WANTS OUT
Kicker Olindo Mare said Sunday he is so unhappy with his current status with the Dolphins, he has offered to return to the team a $250,000 bonus he was paid earlier this month in exchange for being cut or traded immediately.
The Dolphins are trying to trade Mare but have not allowed his agent Drew Rosenhaus to initiate any talks with other teams for his client.
''If they want to get rid of me so bad, and people are asking for me, then do it,'' Mare said during Sunday's dinner leading up to the Jason Taylor Golf classic charity event.
``I've got a family. I've got a new baby. I'm ready to move on. This is heartbreaking for me to leave, but I know it's time and I don't have a choice.''

Let the guy go and move on, he did everything that was asked of him as a Dolphin why are we still hanging onto him?

If we didnt ask for any compensation for Randy McMichael or Kevin Carter why are we trying to trade Mare he's a kicker?

Teams rarely even draft kickers they sign them as FA's anyway.

Just let him go already.
