ronger Together was the Miami Dolphins' mantra for the 2014 season, but it turns out what actually took place inside the team's Davie facility was lots of bickering.
Eventually the Dolphins (8-8) unraveled, which was evident from a few altercations that occurred on-field (Jared Odrick), and quarrels that took place behind closed doors (Mike Wallace).

Most of the tension centered around the offensive players, who were uncomfortable with the conservative approach to the offense, the head-scratching utilization of skill players, and the team's lack of commitment to the run game, which averaged 4.7 yards per carry, and ranked Miami second in the NFL in yards per attempt.
But the defensive players were also disappointed with the constant rotations (before and after injuries decimated the unit), and the complexity of Kevin Coyle's game-day play calling script, which makes it a challenge for newcomers and youngsters to play right away.
I think he has a point.

Stop reaching. Let me guess, this crock heard from a couple of disgruntled overpaid vets that should get the boot anyways. There's no real story here.

Is Omar just speculating or does he have knowledge of what actually happened behind the closed doors?
If the bickering is true, one of our biggest needs will be an experienced veteran who is a natural leader in the lockerroom. Someone who is strong enough to tell Mike Wallace to pull his head in when he's acting like a diva. It would be nice if Ryan Tannehill was able to become more assertive but he seems very introverted.

Which part are you agreeing with?

The players thinking that they are "partners" with the coaches? Whether you agree with the coaching strategy or not that notion is ridiculous.

The anonymous player saying "clearly there are leadership issues"? I am not thrilled with Philbin or Coyle but this makes it sound like the players shouldn't be leading themselves on a personal level. The statement from Colledge is particularly ironic. Leadership doesn't block in his case or tackle in regards to stopping the run.

Credit to Starks for owning his share of the responsibility.

Like some others, I would be happy if we could upgrade Coyle in particular but I'm getting a little tired of blaming coaching for lack of blocking and tackling.

I'm turned off by the professionalism of Omar.

im turned off by the sh*t put out on the football field. stop blaming omar for this joke of a franchise.

yea its Omar's fault we went from 7-5 to 8-8. 1-3 down the stretch thats some progress. 3 of those losses by double digits.

This is a cluster ****. It's obvious that the coach is in over his head. The players are saying the obvious. Philbin can't garner respect from the players because he has no clue how to manage them. The owner is sitting in NYC working on real estate and has no idea what's going on. The players discussing disarray means they can't play past it. It's seeped into their play. Arrow down.

the way the defense just folded down the stretch you would think they would have fired coyle by now. its obvious there was disconnect between him and the players, yet he still has a job. he has no clue how to use jordan, yet he still has a job, the d has gotten progressively worse under his watch, yet he still has a job. is there any question as to why this team is never playing in january? how can anyone write good things about this team?

It is Omar's fault that he looks for the negatives to report on, and he's a huge part of the reason fans think there's a problem at QB.

Omar is a piece of ****, I really care what that moron writes or opines on.

Omar is terrible at his job. He sounds like he's from the ghetto, and that's not a compliment. His writing is substandard and his lack of maturity is astounding. But, the one thing he does have is an hour a day in the lockerrrom. He has access to what the players say.

omar is a huge reason why fans think tannehill isnt the answer??? you cant be serious man! maybe its his 23-25 career record, bad 4th quarter play, you ever think that? tannehill has gotten better but im sure hed be the first to tell you he has to get much better as does the rest of this team, the coaching staff, the front office and the god awful, horrible owner!!!!

This team is gonna be a disaster next year.

I'm sure there is some truth to this, I think it was actually pretty obvious when not looking through Aqua and orange colored glasses. You ever see Gibson's or Matthew's tweets?
