Daunte Culpepper, who refused comment Sunday, stood secluded in street clothes with a swollen patella tendon in his right knee as Miami fell to 1-6. Adding to the unexpected questions surrounding a position once considered to be the team's deepest spot, the Dolphins worked out former Bowling Green quarterback Omar Jacobs on Friday.

I'm a Daunte fan, and I don't expect him to be back this season. Season is lost, and he would be better off getting healthy and back to 100% by next season. I wouldn't mind giving Lemon a shot, but I think Jacobs would be great. He has speed (right?) and an arm. He played great in college and for one reason or another he's a FA. I wouldn't mind seeing him get signed and get some starts. Maybe he can show us something this year, and serve as a backup. I'm not crazy about Lemon, while I will root for him if he plays, I don't think he will fair much better than Harrington.

i would like us to get jacobs i thik he could do ok
if we see something in him then we dont have to use a pick next year on a qb
i like joey better but he is not that young and if jacobs looks good and we play him whats the worst that happens we lose
i just dont see daunte coming back and being a good enough pocket passer i just think he is to old to learn new tricks because he wont come back with the same speed as he used to have

There had to be a reason Pittsburgh released him and didn't even put him on their PS, when Ben was injured to boot!

I watched two preseason games of Pittsburgh on TV and Omar played HORRIBLE!!! He threw two picks to WIDE open corners, no Steeler recievers within ten yards of 'em. and he wasn't under pressure for either of them. if you want a better QB(that still isn't Incredible) look at Shane Boyd(another ex-Steeler QB) the guy is fast, has a strong arm and he when he ran he carried linebackers on him for a few yards more than what normal QB's would get

is it just me or that sounds like culpepper ? y get omar wen u can just keep c pep ...... btw i am proud to announce i got a c pep signed football today ...

I've dreamt of getting Jacobs all last year and was upset that the stealers got him. Everyone said he came out to early. So get him on the squad and just baby him along. Make him our Matt Hasselback. Sit him for 3-4 years than when he's ready. We got a QB.

I would love to see what Cleo can do.... he definitely is a better option than Omar. He already knows the offense and couldn't really hurt our season any more than it's already been hurt.

Omar is definately a GREAT prospect, he could have used that extra year in college, but he could learn a bit more in a year in the NFL sitting than he did at BG. However, I think we should do a Hasselbeck with him and let him learn behind C-Pep for three or four years (this would put Daunte on the verge of retirement anyway) and have a good QB in the wings.
