I would not have them in my playbook unless the DBs were playing 10 yards off.

On 3rd and 8 you are not going to get a first down with a 2-yard pass. If you need 8 yards, design and throw a 9-yard pass.

The first 3 qtrs we were dinking instead of going downfield.

I want to see some of those one and two yard passes in the hands of Jakeem Grant.

I would like to see a pump fake when the cb bites blow right by him.

I don't mind WR screens and short passes, the Patriots run that stuff all the time with great success, I just think we run them way too much and we weren't executing them at all yesterday.

I hate anyone who uses OMG and isn't a teenage girl....

As far as the screens and short passes....o-line vs that d-line, you make calls to try not get your QB killed...

every team runs em - it's all about numbers, putting a man on a man, and execution....when you're outmanned in the trenches and you just dial up 3, 5 step drops play after play, you're going to get your qb killed

It is definitely frustrating when they don't work, just feels like wasted play. It seemed like yesterday they were sniffed out well or the blockers just failed...too many Rams around the catch point.

We telegraph it every time. And then we have stills as the main blocker. It's crazy.

Either learn to do it right or stop giving away downs. We dare teams to crowd the line then prove them right.

I brought my mom to the game yesterday and after about the 10th inside hand off to Jay she said "why the hell do they keep doing the same play?!" lol

O-line injuries vs the top DL in the NFL

Quick throws to the outside relieves pass pressure

Wet conditions not conducive to attacking downfield

Coaching a smart game in understanding it's going to be low scoring and limiting mistakes to keep that gap close.

Then just run the ball if that's the logic. Can't get sacked and less likely to turn the ball over. That telegraphed play didn't work once. Why keep doing it again and again if it's not working? At least a short run keeps wearing on the defense.

It's one thing if you're at least attempting to throw the ball over the top and giving the defense a reason to not stack the box. But yesterday it didn't make any sense, was predictable, and didn't work ... so how do you defend it?

I'm with Dole on this one. I hate the bubble screen a lot. If you want to run the ball, run the damn ball.

That's a top DL, you're not going to wear them down. On the other hand, applying that same "keep running and wear them down" mentality to the DB's is what screens are. And lo and behold, at games end, we were able to succeed in the passing game b/c you constantly attacked the DB's even if it wasn't downfield. You're still attacking them and forcing them to tackle whether it's vertically or horizontally.

That's a wall up front for the Rams. Gase chose wisely by continually attacking the weaker links of the defense by forcing the edge players and DB's to constantly make plays that they're used to having their front four make.
