It was like 3rd and 4. I'd just like to know, what play were you guys thinking we'd run? We could have iced the game with a 1st down or a half yard gain and a field goal. It looked like after that sweep play lost 3 yards, Sparano was in Hennings face on the sideline. Everyone at my table was calling for a pass there. I personally called a little wheele route to Ronnie in the middle of the field. There has been some criticizm of the way Henning has been calling these games for 4-5 weeks now and it's mostly been ignored because we've been winning. I think we've pressed our luck too long sitting on 3 and 4 point leads. Do something different. Add the pass to Ronnie and Ricky and even Cobbs. Do some slants and for gosh sakes, run the ball more instead of that dangerous 2 yard sideline pass.

I would of ran play action pass to Bess on an out pattern from the slot position.

I would have ran. If you hadn't noticed, the sweep was working very well that last drive. And the lost on the play didn't put us out of Dan's field goal range. He just happened to be short on that one attempt.

How can Sparano be in Hennings face when Henning is upstairs in a booth?

Henning isn't in the booth the whole time. Sometimes he's on the sidelines. I don't know if you have a tape and can play it back but Sparano was definately in someones face right after that play. Either way, we can't go into the Jets and KC games putting 14-16 points on the board. We need to get more production out of the running and passing games. I'll take it if we can win that way, but I don't think we can get two or three more wins with this type of offensive play.

We do one of two things. We sit on a 4 point lead or if we're down early, which hasn't been often and god forbid we get down early against KC or the Jets, we abandon the entire game plan and pass 35-45 times a game and lose. Even if we get down by only 3-6 points, Henning panics and abandons the run.

I've looked at the games we lost and it doesn't tell a good story when we get down by the slightest margin. Against the Jets we passed 43 times with 26 completions. Why? Only down by 6 pts!

Against the Cards passing and completing only 17-32. Ok that one we were never in.

Baltimore, down by only 7 pts and we pass 35 times, comleting 24 one completion to them for 7 pts.

NE down by only 3 pts late in the 3rd quarter and we attempt 41 passes completing only 24.

This is in no way a reflection on Chad. I'm just pointing out that Henning cannot call an effective game when his team is not leading. He has no faith in the defense and no faith in Ricky and Ronnie.

YAWN.

And if Penny threw and it was taken for a pick 6, Henning still gets bitched.

We took care of the ball. We scored points. We shut them down when it mattered.

We won.

An incoplete stops the clock. The run is the right thing. Sweeps are more risky though.

That fullback run with polite is always good for a couple yards, but we needed like 4 I think.

Wildcat might not have been a bad idea. Let Ronnie find the best way to get yards.

Oh well. The big thing there was that we didn't blow it, like the 49ers did and take ourselves way out of fieldgoal range. (even though we missed)

running was the smart thing to do...is easy now to say run it up the middle and get a yard cause we just missed that f/g by half a yard.....but running was the thing to do,specially since we had been running good on that drive.

Ozzy rules!!
