week after week i find myself questioning this coaching staff for not using Cameron Wake more frequently. I only saw him a handful of times at the most today. Schaub had alot of time in the pocket today. QBs all year have had alot of time in the pocket. Wake is the only pass rusher on this defense who applies constant pressure. Wake is constantly making QBs move their feet, get outside the pocket or step up in the pocket and force them to make an error. Hes made alot of plays for us in limited opportunities. Hes come up big in some crucial situations, he got Brady at the end of the game.
What is the reason they say they dont use him? Hes not good at covering? The other LBs dont have superb coverage skills so how much of a downgrade could it be? Porter has been MIA most of year. He shows up once in awhile, just like Channing Crowder. JT still makes some plays but hes nowhere close to what he used to be. Wakes motor goes 100% on every play.
Wake could wear down a tackle or whoevers covering him if hes going all game long. Wasnt their starting tackle out today? why didnt we rush Wake on him?
I really like what ive seen from Wake, id like to see more of him but the coaches refuse to increase his role. Its a shame because our pass rush is pretty weak. That doesnt help out our rookie corners and Gibril Wilson.
