Why do NFL players seem to get arrested more then any other pro sports athlete? Can anyone give me a creditable opinion on this one

The nfl has the most players possible to get arrested. Truthfully the nba is worse actually. However, you see, each NFL team has 53 players on it. But each NBA team only has 12-15. Therefore, theres a much bigger chance of a player gettin arrested from the nfl because the nfl has the most athletes of all sports organizations. But the nba still has a lot of bad boy, idiots too. Iverson got arrested a lot before, the entire blazers team a few years back were pretty terrible. or how about even this year the idiotic brawl that went down between the pacers and the pistons.

interesting points, you would think baseball would have a popluation of problems but outside of performance drug issues there seems to be no real issues there, what else is interesting is the NHL is a violent sport like football, but also does not seem to have the issues like football does every season

The NFL aint golf. It aint ping-pong or tic-tac-toe.
This is meanacingly physical sport. A brutal sport and it's only fit that it's players are of the same nature. A lot of these guys, at least where I grew up were bangers. They had physical skills and ability but they were rarely able to harness that in a sporting context. Enter the NFL.
That's also why on-field physical violence isn't really a problem. Players are used to getting hit, getting physical. It's their life and therefore it's only normal for them to get massacred on a football field. But in Basketball, yhou have your Shawn Bradley's and Fred Hoiberg's. Not exactly you're average Julius Peppers, huh?
Well that's just my opinion. I feel it's the same with boxing as well. There are always exceptions though. And not to say all football players are violent. Many positions are intellectually specific i.e. Quarterback and ..errr....punter....aahheemmm.

I think too often players carry their on field aggression over to their family. Not enough players learning the importance of distinguishing what is allowed off the field. Truthfully, these young men are nurtured and taught to be ultra aggressive at all times and for some I just think it takes over their personality because they cant separate the culture you learn from football from the culture the rest of society lives in.
