29 pass attempts, 32 rushing attempts.

Thats how how you win with the qb on the Dolphins, no I'm not saying he can't have big games throwing because he has done it plenty, but if Seattle can do it with that qb Miami should too.

Efficient passing game. 20-29 with a 7+ YPA with a balanced offensive game will benefit this team more than anything Gase can do.

I certainly don't think you need a ground and pound offense in the NFL, but conversely, Miami has been down at the bottom of the league in rushing attempts and rushing percentage under Joe Philbin, despite a complete inability to pass protect.

What I want to see is better route combinations, fewer bubble screens, more movement of the QB, and some commitment to the ground game. That's how you can stop your quarterback who's really good at throwing on the run from being sacked 60 times a year.

No one is talking about it because Tannehill was 2-4 for 8 yards (2 YPA) and the starting offense got 6 yards on 2 attempts (a third attempt went for 3 yards but was called back because of holding so you could say they had 3 attemtps for -4 yards).

I don't expect Miamis game to be ground and pound, don't have the strength up front. But having balance and at least a commitment to running the ball will do wonders for the team.

I don't care what unit got it. If this is a sign of things to come this year with the offense I'm happy.

You will care when this O-line leads to a lot of 3rd and long situations thanks to an inability to run early and defenses are teeing off on the QB, whoever it may be.

Dallas Thomas isn't starting the season as the G. That's Tunsil's job. That alone is going to make a difference from inside pressure. Albert is fine, he's not gonna be beaten like a drum all year. The other G is still up in the air, I didn't get a chance to watch the side often as I was to busy looking a Tunsil.

I don't even have to chime in. You said it for me.

It's what our OL has excelled at, 3rd and long.

No QB can thrive like that.

So glad Philbin and Lazor are gone (admittedly, I thought they knew what they were doing in the beginning).

Running the football is goid but not always posible. The oline will have to be much better. Also, if our defense sucks like they did last year then we're playing catch up and you end up having to throw it more so it's not B & W.....you have to manage the game you're playing. I'm hope Grant will help with FP which would help the offense and the defense.

Ozzy rules!!

Balance is good, but every game is different. You use what works in the game. If the other team can't stop your running game, don't stop running the ball and use play action.

That's true and if our balance is tilted towards the runs because of runs that are used to close out a game that we are way ahead like last night all the better.

Well said. It'll be nice to have some balance back. No negatives to that.

Right. The problem with the previous coaching staff is that they would stop running the ball when it's working or give up on it after a couple of bad plays. It was ridiculous how little carries Miller got.

I thought you were going to say that the Giants have never beaten the fins during the preseason. That's a stat nobody is talking about.

Probably because it's meaningless.
