....Is possibly the fact of how good a coach Sparano will be?!

We've all seen the threads on here about who we've already signed up for next season and who we may or may not draft in April, but to me, is the issue of how good Sparano will be as HC of the Miami Dolphins.

Ok yes, the player roster is a very important part of a successful team but lets not forget Sparano is a newbie to the head coaching lark. Obviously we're all hoping he's gonna be a stud coach but it's not guaranteed surely?!

I'm hoping and praying that we are really on our way back to being a very good, competetive football team and not continuing the poor coaching decisions made by the muppet aka Cam Cameron.

GO PHINS!!:woot:

He ought to be fine, he has the Tuna ahead of him anyways. And Ireland seams solid as well. If they aren't SPECTACULAR the dolphints team should be fine with the new increase of talent and the new potential talent that will amerge this see after the draft. Sparano didn't particpate much in the draft because Parcells took care of that, he just focuses on the players.

Yeah he definantly has some one with his back thats there for him whenever. Sparano was loved in Dallas and had his players respect and I expect nothing less from him as a HC. If any players gives him a problem I'm sure they will regret it and the FO will deal with them swiftly. He isn't going to be trying to pull double duties like Cam either. We interviewed some high profile guys and Sparano was our choice over them. I really don't see him as anyones puppet either.

No, but then again, what is guaranteed? Whoever else the Dolphins could have hired, they would have had to extrapolate from whatever coaching they did previously, whether as a HC, coordinator, or assistant, would also work here as well.

I like Sparano, from what I've seen in his press conferences, he strikes me as a "disciplined, no excuses, I'm here to win" kind of coach.

Kinda funny how quiet it is reference Sparano now... all talk is about Tuna...actually takes the initial pressure off the rest of the staff and lets them do their thing...

We don't really know. He is relatively new to being a HC in the NFL. It's a wait and see approach but it is assures that Bill we be pulling his reins in from time to time. I'm curious as to what offense we are running? Anyone? We running Air Coryell again?

Sparano should be fine, he's a no-nonsense, hard work, blue collar hard hat kind of guy who'll tell it like it is and work harder than the opposing coach. Tuna will tutor him and Ireland will get him the right kind of players. He also hired a pretty decent staff from what I see, so a lot of things should be better from a coaching perspective. Great thread, good point: Sparano may be more of a key to our success than any of the topics we've been shuffling around the boards these past weeks.

Tuna has a plan, Sparano was/is a HUGE part of that plan, as was/is Ireland. I'm excited about the plan in general, and have VERY high hopes that Sparano will go out and win some games for us, just by hard work alone. And Sparano should see less bone-headed play calling on O and D with the kind of coordinators he's brought in.

I totally agree with what your saying there PhinsRock, everything that's been done so far in terms of player addition, coaching additions all look to be pushing us in the right direction and i also agree that Sparano seems the 'polar opposite' in comparison to Cam Cameron, far more disciplined it seems and he looks a very determined kind of guy.

I'm just hoping like all of us Phinfans that we can get back to watching a good, competetive football team who do all the basics well and don't beat themselves like in the recent past.

Well one word I know he will earn from the players is RESPECT(lol that songs is in my head now). That's one thing players didn't do which was show any respec to cam. I also like he is a in your face type guy and fom what I heard won't take no bs.

I'm a huge fan of Sparano partly because I live in "Cowboy Country" and know a little about him. He comes into this job with the rare luxury of having someone like Parcells to take the focus off of him a little. The guy is just an old school harda## football coach who would rather spend his time working on this team than anything else. I really think he will do a great job and will bring a high level of commitment to the Dolphins. Having the Tuna to advise him will really help (not eliminate) cut down of the rookie coach mistakes.

He was also the asst HC in Dallas, not just a position coach. Quite frankly, I prefer him over Wade Phillips.
I think Dallas fans will be thinking that way too after the next few seasons. Phillips has never impressed me as a HC.
