In the wake if the newest Ricky incident, we have learnt that Nick cant control someones personality or choices. What is everyones opinion on TO now?
I never wanted him, never will want him. #2 WR in the NFL, but cant shut his mouth.

I do not want TO, would rather draft a WR or pick one up via FA. We already have our #1 guy in Chambers adding say a #2 guy like Givens or Randle El would be sufficient...TO is too much of a risk, and I for one am not willing to take that risk and destroy what team chemistry we built over last season...

I agree. I would love to get Givens.
Just say N.O to T.O

No coach can control what a player does in the offseason. All they can do is hope. Saban cant spend every night with Ricky and watch his every move. It is up to Ricky to be a bonehead or a professional.

Exactly why I compare him to Owens. People say Saban can control him, but I doubt that.

The situation is a little different. Ricky's problem isn't inside the lockerroom. When he's there and working out/practicing/playing, he's not a problem. He goes about his business, is a good teammate, and gets good results. But unfortunately he has a problem controlling his non-football-related behavior off the field. TO, on the other hand, throws his teammates under the bus and can't stop complaining. Every time he doesn't feel he gets the respect he deserves, or gets slighted for something (which is pretty much all the time, in his opinion), he has to whine about it. Both of them are problems, and at this point I'm not sure either can be resolved.

lol, saban isn't a doctor, so he's not going to control ricky's addiction. he can do just as much as the NFL can, which is to tell him that if he does it again, he's off the team. when you're addicted, you're not going to quit because someone told you to. he'll have to figure it out for himself. ironically he probably will and get help for it years after he's done playing football.

Well really I think Saban could control Owens better than Ricky. Rickys problems are off field and Owens are on field demanding the ball and more money. But neither can be controlled unless they chose to change. I think TO is at a time in his career where he has to change in order to play football.

Thats a great point. I did not want TO either.

Some fans who want TO use the Ricky case as an example. Nick brought Ricky back so Nick should be able to tame TO. Now what do you say?

Thats not to say Nick isn't great at what he does. But some guys just can't be controlled....see Ricky and TO.

:shakeno:

Are you serious? This is the most rediculous post:goof: Nick Saban is a great coach, but get it out of your mind that he has freaking healing powers!!!! Drug addiction is a disease, and for someone to think that a coach or even anyone else can control it, before the actual user wants to control it has to have the dumbest thought process ever. Ricky has a [problem, he needs serious help, but he has to want to help himself first. To compare RW to TO is absolutely insane. Please think before you post and take shots at Nick Saban!

One thing I know is that there are so many people jumping to conclusions before the whole story is out. Ricky and TO have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

One thing we know...

we can't go 2 minutes with out a TO thread!!!! sheeeeesh

Whats even to say the Ricky tested Positive for drugs? I mean with everything swirling around the way it is. I wouldn't be suprised at this point to find out that he missed it and the people in Denver weren't aware that he told someone from the league that he'd be away on Vacation during the offseason. I think too many people are jumping to conclusions about this team and Saban. The bottom line is, as long as Saban keeps winning I don't care what players are here. Bring us home a Superbowl Nick. If TO is on that team that does it great, if not great. Just bring us home the Trophy.
