Only if Ronnie Brown would of fell at the one yard line and let the Texans touch him for a first down. That would of made the Texans call their second time out and then second down do the same thing. Third down go for the touchdown and if they make it they leave Texans with less than a minute and no time outs or try a field goal at the one and leave about 20 seconds left for the Texans to make a winning field goal.

i was really thinking take a knee 3 times and kick a field goal

I know that would have won it for us. Although with Westbrook his team was already winning and he had like 60 yards to make his mind up.

But who would've thought we would've blown it up?

I didnt watch the 2nd half, but man, what if he fumbles or something?

You have to take that touchdown at that point. Westbrook's situation was completely different. They were already winning and he did that to run out the clock.

It's only in hindsight but it haunts me nonetheless. I don't blame him for getting in tho. He had a split second to make a play and he did.

I think if Im the texans I let Miami score in that situation. You save your timeouts and get the most time to go drive it. Miami played it wrong. I'm not sure how far we could've taken the clock down, but I think it would've been under a minute which probably would've done the job.

Its not the offenses job to protect the defense by wasting the last two minutes. Football is a team sport. Ronnie and the offense did their job, the defense didn't.

Don't tell that too a couple posters around here. Some of them think they belong in the organization on the coaching staff because they understand how to "manage time".

That would have been the best thing. Go down, let the clock run down while Houston eats their last timeouts and either punch it in on 3rd down or kick the game-winning field goal with only a few ticks left.

Best thing would've been for our defense, scratch that , SECONDARY to step up and make plays.

Whether or not you chose to accept it, its undeniable that we stood a far better chance of winning if we kneel on the one. Think about it. Ronnie goes down. He's going down untouched so he's not gonna fumble. Then Pennington kneels until 4th down. Has any EVER seen a QB fumble a kneeldown? Then we hit basically an extra point. Theres probably a 1% chance we miss it. Then the Texans get it back with 15 seconds and no TOs. To be generous, we have a 2-3% chance of losing that way.

The other choice it give the ball back to the Texans with a minute something and 2 TOs. We havent stopped them from passing very well most of the day. A very conservative guess would be that they have a 20-25% chance of scoring on this drive and winning.

Tell me which choice is better.

I agree that the defence SHOULD stop them, but the fact is, theres a good chance they dont, especially considering hw the Texans had moved the ball all day up to that point. Its a no brainer.
