Only The Beginning

Not a bad article, Armando has been pretty plugged in lately so i guess we should be suspecting more moves in the coming days

Hopefully getting something for Pouncey- move forward with Brendel or a draft pick. Maybe even use the cap space to sign Jensen

Depending on the LB or G we do or don’t sign it could be okay

Jensen is golden as he is just as good at the guard position as he is center, maybe better. If Brendel looks good, we have our RG, if not, our center. Pouncey needs to be moved.

This clown earlier was saying we should question all the moves since we went 6 and 10. Now he is saying it’s only the beginning.
He is just like the front office. Keeps changing his mind. Keep our own? Let them go? We should question the team? Have patience it’s onky the start?

So glad we broke the bank for suh and then last year to keep branch , Jones, Kiki, etc. but we dont stay with that direction.

This front office has no directon.

Terrible commentary. If you’re going to use the rationale that the Dolphins went 6-10 with Landry, so he isn’t necessary, then you can use the same rationale for just about every high-salary player on the team. Reshad Jones?? Hey, the Dolphins made the playoffs without him in 2016. Get rid of him. Suh? The Dolphins were 6-10 with him last season. Dump him.

Ireland: no one could ever be as stupid as my front staff and still have a job inn the NFL

Tannenbaum: Hold my beer

While I'm sure he's being fed this from inside the Miami organization ... he's not wrong. We've just made a major trade to acquire Quinn, now we've gotten draft picks for Landry whom we would have let go in free agency. The way the compensation goes, it's a balance sheet of what you let go against what you take in, so if we brought a lot in, we might not get compensated for Landry. By trading him, we assure we do. The Brown's 4th is just a single selection away from the end of the 3rd round compensatory picks, so it's like guaranteeing that compensation. The 6th next year is just icing on the cake. I'm not unhappy about this trade, and I'm downright excited about the Quinn trade. Sure, we should have signed Juice two years ago ... I was saying that the entire time, but hey, we're here now, and this is solid compensation for the here and now.

So, if this is just the beginning--and I suspect Armando is correct about that since he's being leaked this info straight from our front office most likely--these trades seem to be solid choices. And judging by the recent drafting (Tunsil, Howard, Tankersley, etc.) we seem to be headed in the right direction with talent acquisition.

Agreed Forksphin, so what’s yer point?

Basically, everyone is expendable on this team. There’s no one with a champion’s attitude and we’re going nowhere. Why not deal assets and try to get new blood? There’s no one left on this team I’d miss if they were shown the door, though I wouldn’t mind seeing what some of the young players can do. I’m done freaking out every time someone leaves. Truth is, more should and probably will follow.

Ummm. I disagree w almost everything about this article.

1. We wouldn’t have been in this situation had we extended him last year.

2. Windfall? That’s like saying, back in 1986, had we bungled Dan Marino’s contract situation so badly (and FA existed) that we were forced into tagging and trading him - then saying, “woohoo!!! We just got a $25mil windfall”.

3. Welker was NOT better than Landry. Not as athletic, hands not as good (see drop that cost NE SB vs Giants), not as good a blocker - not as good of a football player. Put it this way - he was just ok w crappy QBs throwing to him. Jarvis caught 9 TDs w Jay Cutlet tossing it.

Talk about rationalization at its finest.

Right! Landry was excellent at everything football. Very high value player, should have garnered more, not a lot more, but at least two 4ths, early 4ths or late 3rd's.

Yeah, I don't agree with the Welker comparison... Put Landry with Brady, he would destroy whatever numbers Welker put up.
