While I'm sure he's being fed this from inside the Miami organization ... he's not wrong. We've just made a major trade to acquire Quinn, now we've gotten draft picks for Landry whom we would have let go in free agency. The way the compensation goes, it's a balance sheet of what you let go against what you take in, so if we brought a lot in, we might not get compensated for Landry. By trading him, we assure we do. The Brown's 4th is just a single selection away from the end of the 3rd round compensatory picks, so it's like guaranteeing that compensation. The 6th next year is just icing on the cake. I'm not unhappy about this trade, and I'm downright excited about the Quinn trade. Sure, we should have signed Juice two years ago ... I was saying that the entire time, but hey, we're here now, and this is solid compensation for the here and now.
So, if this is just the beginning--and I suspect Armando is correct about that since he's being leaked this info straight from our front office most likely--these trades seem to be solid choices. And judging by the recent drafting (Tunsil, Howard, Tankersley, etc.) we seem to be headed in the right direction with talent acquisition.
