I read many draft sites and articles this week end and 5 things are obviously IMO.

1/ The LT sport isn't very impressive in draft this year (in exception of joe thomas but we cannot pick him...so he don't count)...........that means go to steinbach (or jordan black + diehlman) with a switch for carey in this case, Mc intosh is servicable but not our LT of the future and we need to erase this need now, period.

2/OLB is very impressive and very depht this year and we can very well draft an excellent OLB in round 1 (posluzny, willis) or a very good OLB in the round 2 (everett, siler, HB Blades, jon beason)......so don't count on a briggs signature, too many money request with a very good draft possibility that will not be a good move and cameron is intelligent.

3/ DB need, that could be the most difficult to predict, we can go on FA market , we gan go on round 1 or we can go on round 3 (fred bennet,) or latter round (talley) and found good value too.......

4/If brady quinn is here at 9, don't think too much, pick him daunte will be here 2 years, and after that welcome brady......and our QB problem will be
erased.

5/a center will be picked in round 4 or 6 (ryan khalil or kyle young or moses) because don't forget cam say to us that he like a solid interior OL.

There is Levi Brown but if Quinn's available there should be no question that we pick him. I like Carey where he is at RT. I think we can live with D-Mac for one more year then draft next year. Or pick up Joe Staley as a prospect. But if Steinbach is willing to play LT, which I think he's better suited for, and maybe bulk up a little bit to play the typical Houck OL role, that'd be even better.

Absolutely on Quinn if he falls.

And I also like Levi Brown though if we were going to reach at 9, I'd rather be gambling on Ted Ginn Jr, asumming both are reaches, because I believe Ginn has the biggest potential upside of any player in the draft. If Brown values out, then Brown it should be.

I think that either Joe Staley, Ryan Harris, Arron Sears, or Doug Free will be available in the 2nd round(41 overall) and that Hudson Houck could make any of these guys a starter on that left side with Kris Dielman helping them out.

I'm high on Doug Free which is 6'7 302 lbs and runs a 5.10. He is projected as a day one pick by http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/ot/dougfree.html and I just love the raw talent(size, speed) houck will get to work with.

Earl Everett would be a great OLB but I think he may actually slip to the 3rd round.

For CB help, the Miami Dolphins should definitely make sufficient cap room by restructures/cuts/trades(could easily get us above 20 mill in cap space) and bring in the cheaper choice of Asante Samuels/Nate Clements. We need a shutdown corner in the secondary. They lost more than a few games for us this past season.

Sears, Staley, and Free are good prospects. Though only Sears won't require some serious bulking up. Houck likes em big, meaning 320+ lbs. Makes me really wish we'd have picked McNeill rather than Jason Allen. That guy was the prototypical Houck LT.

Everett's a nice choice and he'll know Crowder.

Definitely need a shutdown corner like Samuels/Clements.

i think that if quinn falls to us that we will take him as our QB situation as of right now is to shaky to not take someone of his potential at the QB position.

1. Levi Brown is a top 10 LT. Joe Staley, Doug Free are excellent 2nd round prospects. So clearly the draft has talent. Steinbach is a LG. Whilst he's subbed at LT for Levi Jones, he's a guard. Jordan Black? Certainly not a place we need to go.

2. Patrick Willis, HB Blades and Brandon Siler are middle linebackers. Lance Briggs doesn't suit our scheme.

3. Fred Bennett won't get out of R2.

4. Ryan Kalil is a late 1/early 2.

who does levi Browns speed compare to at his position? i hope he isnt another SLow guy on the line. our line lacks athletic quick players. what you expect from the 2nd largest O line in the game?

Brown has very quick feet. He has a quick kickslide and is very mobile for a man of his size.

You are the man buddy! I was lobbying for McNeil all last year.

Did you know the guy is so quick for his size his nickname in college was "the Dancing Bear?"

I use to write to Jason Cole about him but Jason would tell me he wasn't high on the kid because he had back problems.

I knew the guy was something special. Size is one thing but to be athletic and big, that's just special.

McNeil would clearly have gone higher last year were it not for the spinal stenosis which turned A LOT of teams off.

I would have surely been turned off aswell. I played Oline with a herniated disk and it's the worst pain I've felt in my life. that and Mary Ellen Muffet- she broke my heart.

i dont think we can get a good center that late, but i like what you're thinking in the first 3 rounds. i wouldnt mind taking a receiver in the third either with possibly dallas baker being available.

1. Levi is the better athlete and choice overall if he is available. a G would be nice and a bonus if we can find a versatile stud who could man both guard positions. Any thoughts on if Steinbach could do it? I take LT first. For any of those who think D-Mac should be here another year IF we are able to find an upgrade in draft who has great possibility of contributing immediately then lets just say we agree to disagree and leave it at that.

2. Willis is the real deal but does not satisfy a trued need. Lance Briggs will cost the house and he will be Tagged anyway.

3. Agreed Bennett could be high R2 pick.

GO PHINZ

Definitely. Big yet mobile. Perfect for Houck.

And as for injury issues, didn't Jason Allen have a lingering injury issue? I would've rather put a gamble on a injured LT than an injured safety since you get a much bigger upside.
