Someone who Bill is indirectly very familiar with...since his Dad once played for him...none other than...Chris Sims....once he is cut from TB..watch and wait.

I would not mind looking at Sims although dont be suprised if Texans dont make arun so they can trade Rosenfels.

I would really like to have him as a back up for the Dolphins. He looked really good in 2005, nothing that will blow you away but he was efficient. He has the makings of a solid back up.

Sims was impressive two seasons ago.I wouldnt mind taking a look at him but the FO will draft a QB somewhere in this draft....

Interesting take. Have to say, I have thought of it as well. It makes sense. But Im not sure theyre going to cut him and I certainly wouldnt give up compensation for him.

our roster will look like this if we pass on jake long.

QB:
1.Matt Ryan
2.John Beck
3.Josh Mcown

Sims I hope I beleive his upside could be as high as Ryans and he is less of a downside risk in my opinion "espcially" if we do not have to burn a 1st round draft pick on him. I suspect we will not pick up anyone until after the draft as Bill does not want to show his hand in the draft on M Ryan, C Long, Mc Fadden or others!

I think it will be a draft guy, i don see a need for another veteran backup after we signed mccown, if its a guy we picked early or even a guy we pick in the later rds either way it gives us another option for the future and a hand picked guy for our coaches to develop.

i dont think well get Simms. if im not mistake Phil Simms said a few years ago that he wouldnt want his son playing for Bill Parcells. no link to that, even tho im sure i can google something up. but even so...i dont see him coming here. and quite honestly, i dont want him here either. that guy sucks.

I really beleive we wait and draft another QB next year for 3 reasons. First this years QB draft class is no sure thing and its hard to justify M Ryann with the overall pick with all the other needs the Dolphins have. So they play it safe this year and pick a Long or trade down. Second they really need this year to determine where they draft a QB next year based on how well Beck performs. We are alost certainly going to have another high round draft pick next year so if Beck is a bust then thats where we go but if not we pick up a QB in the lower rounds to develop. Third why would you want to have 2 rookie QBs to throw to the wolves this year. Say for example McNown goes down with an injury and Beck gets overwhelmed like last year do you want to put your self in a position to have to insert your new rookie first round pick in a new system, with a new coach and try and make the team gell all at the same time. That would almost certainly ruin the kid. We need 2 veterans this year for insurance purposes in case one goes down and or Beck just is not ready for the NFL. Having 2 rookie QB this year is just too much of a gamble.
