Lance was once a highly-touted NFL prospect, coming into the 2021 NFL Draft as a redshirt-sophomore from the University of North Dakota. That season the 49ers made Lance the third overall pick, with the idea that he would come in and start right away, giving them a young, athletic face of the franchise.

Nope. Didnt think he should of been as hyped up as he was coming out of college, he didnt do much in school either. People just enamored with the running ability and his big arm, but hes lacking football IQ.

I'd consider picking him up off of waivers, but I wouldnt sink any assets into trading for him.

I think, could be wrong, McDaniel was still a part of the SF team when they were scouting this kid, he might want to take a look at him.
He was in the Waddle draft, which was when Flores was still here, so McDaniel was still in SF, so very likely had some input in the drafting of Lance. He is so inexperienced but at least he has physical tools that are upper-level. Whether he puts it all together who knows. A lot more upside than Thompson or White.

I got this nagging feeling that Lance is going to be reeled in by the Dolphins...just a feeling.

Go Fins!! :EVL:

Who knows......McD clearly has some history with Lance from SF, but they also moved on from him pretty quickly.

I would think you would want more of a proven commodity at the backup spot and not a project, but if they feel like Thompson and White aren't cutting it, anything is possible....
