SHINED IN THE EAST/WEST SHRINE GAME

I think Ball could be a steal in the second day of the draft

Any opinions would be great better yet if you saw him play in person!!!

THANKS,

miamiron

Is he the really small dude from DII or am I thinking of someone else? Im pretty sure Im thinking of someone else.....

6'2...200LBS

Different guy then.

There is one DII player....broke all/most of Jerry Rice DII recieving records, supposed to be really fast and good. But I remember him being small and undersized. Id love that dude in the 5th round or so, despite being small I think he could be the next Colston (A guy that ends up being really good despite being a late round pick)

EDIT: Wow it is the same guy....I looked it up...and Im pretty sure its him...but why do I remember him being really small.....

. Fans and media packed Delaware Stadium to see David Ball break the I-AA touchdown reception mark

Yeah same guy....I love him as a player.

Alex,
Any idea what this guy runs the 40 in.I have researched everywhere and can't find his 40 time.

Thanks,
Ron

4.5 or so I think, or thats what Ive read before

David Ball, a receiver for Division I-AA New Hampshire, has been getting solid reviews while matching up one-on-one against I-A cornerbacks.
Entering this week, scouts wanted to see what kind of separation Ball could get going against a higher level of corners.
While Ball hasn't encountered a lot of press coverage, he's shown he can match up well. He joked his 40 time won't be among the best at the Indianapolis combine, he can run "a 4.5 when the clock is on."
Ball's 58 career touchdowns broke the I-AA record previously held by Jerry Rice.

I've also read that he has outrun guys much faster than him....his game speed is better than that for some reason and he really can turn it up a notch

That quote was somewhere in here btw

UNH baby!

I actually went to UNH ( along time ago :( ) so I follow them as much as I can.

Ball is pretty solid. They call him a Jeff Samardzija clone. He even looks like him. And he DID have a helluva Shrine game. His 40 time isn't stellar, but the fact is he'll catch anything thrown near him and he's physical with good leaping ability.

I would love to see Miami get him at some point in the mid-to-late rounds. He could surprise some people

Thanks Alex and vadolfan.

I went to the university of Rhode Island not the football powerhouses like we have here in Florida.I became a dolphin fan about 15 years ago...it took me about 5 years to convert once I was down here but watching Marino How could one not convert??????

I like the first 3 picks in our draft because each one should start since this is a very strong draft but I LOVE draft picks 4,6,7. Any other ideas or players that you would consider sleepers that could help us at 4,6,7 ????

THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP,

Ron

yeah i wouldnt mind having him late in the draft he could turn out to be a good reciever maybe a 2 or 3 givin a little time and later in the draft you can gamble more on picks a little

I went to UNH so I am a big David Ball fan. He certainly dominates in div 1-AA but, as we know, the NFL is a hell of a lot differrent. He does have amazing hands and great leaping ability. Speed might hurt him. I'd love to get him later in the draft.

Well he did really good against D1 teams in the shrine game with three catches for eighty yards. Thats against some pretty good talent, so I have no doubts he can hang with at least the top college players out there.

It all depends if he runs a 40 time of atleast 4.53-4.54. If he does then he has a shot because of his route-running.
