Obviously we're all very upset. I don't want to say wait until next year, but it looks like we aren't quite there yet.
Now, let's look at what we have:
-A top tier shutdown cornerback
-A top tier left tackle. Arguably the second most important position in football behind qb
-A dominant top 10 wide receiver (has the tools to be top 5)
-A clutch wide receiver in the slot
-A very good linebacker who has payed off via free agency
-A top 3 (if not number one) fullback
-A pro bowl caliber kicker (last night notwithstanding)
I know our game day coaching can be terrible. I know we are green at a lot of other positions. I know our special teams are arguably the worst in the league. But what I listed are seven players who can be part of the nucleus of a championship team. I don't know if we don't have the right quarterback to build this talent around. I don't know if we need a massive overhaul of our coaching staff. Buf if you consider how pathetically untalented we were for most of the last decade, you have to like what we have going there. Couple that with the fact that they're all under the age of 30 and there is hope for the future.
