Wow, is this guy in a lot of pressure to win huh? How bad would it look if he loses his fight tommorow in Cinco de Mayo? The drama built up for this fight is pretty high, Oscar better win or never show his face in Mexico again.

Not that mexicans care about Cinco de Mayo very much... but considering Oscar is a mexican/american, I guess yeah, the pressure would be on him.

Having said that. I hope with all my heart that he wins.... Mayweather is such an ***... Oscar is a class act guy. (even if he pronounces his last name de la jolla... which I personally hate)

I had to laugh when Mayweather was on ESPN bashing MMA, saying how they were all "Boxers that couldn't cut it". LMAO

Why would the pressure be on him? The pressure should be on Mayweather. He is the undefeated one. I think De La Hoy knocks him out in 8.

De La Hoya left hook gonna knockout Floyd by the 8th. If this goes to the card Floyd win because of his quick punch and move style.

I hope you guys are right, I just think that Floyd is way to fast for Oscar... but I want to see him win so much (Not since the glory days of Julio Cesar beating the crap out of Macho Camacho, have I been so excited for a fight)

i think mayweather has more too lose than oscar

He does no doubt about it. If Oscar wins, Oscar moves into the greatest of all time list. Not that he would even come close to topping that list but he will top the list of this generation and will be mentioned. If he doesn't, oh well, he's still a headed to Canastota and has made plenty of money. Not many people who know boxing are expecting him to win anyways. Floyd on the other hand has little to gain and everything to lose unless he knocks De La Hoya out. If he loses everyone will laugh at him with all the talk of "greatest of all time" that he's become known for. If he wins a close fight, everyone will say that he really didn't accomplish anything because if Oscar was in his prime (which he no longer is), Floyd wouldn't have won. Floyd needs to just win period but a knockout or a completely dominant performance is the only way he is going to truly gain from this fight!

I agree.
De La Hoya is too big and too strong for Mayweather. He probably gonna be around at 160 pounds. He has so much more experience in big fights. Many say that Mayweather is to fast and can’t be hit, but Zab Judah and Castillo hit him alot. Castillo was robbed at the score card from that fight everyone had him ahead except the judges. Floyd will get the early rounds with his speed but after four or five rounds De La Hoya will be in command.

I'm not a huge fan of anything less than Heavyweight, but I hope Mayweather kills De La Hoya

If I was a betting man, my money would be on Floyd. Admire his skills greatly but I dont think he has given the boxing fans of this generation what they deserve. He has not taken on the tough fights fans have been clamoring for and has stinked up the joint multiple times all the while cruising to safe yet very boring to watch victories. His mastery of the ring is second to none and he's as techinally sound a fighter as I have ever seen. But as great as he is, he has not challenged the "greats" of his generation until now. A little too late maybe? If he loses, his legacy will forever be tarnished. If he wins, some will call him the best ever. That to me is a joke. For as great as Mayweather is, I cannot remember a single great moment in his career that I will look back on 25 years from now the same way I look back at Aaron Pryor's wars with Alexis Arguello in the early 80's. Yes I was 5 years old, but I still have vivid memories of those fights and the glory days of the mid 80's with Duran, Hagler, Hearns and Leonard in their primes and not ducking one another.

Here's hoping that Oscar wins by late round TKO and cements himself among the all time greats.
