I find it hard to believe Fitzpatrick and Gesicki won’t be starters.
Maybe the staff makes them “earn it” but yeah no way they aren’t starting

Almost all staffs do, even if it is just for show, out of respect for the vets.

Gesicki absolutely. If he isn't our week 1 starter something went wrong.
Fitzpatrick is a little different, because it really doesn't matter whether or not he's the starter. TJ could be listed as the starter, but Fitzpatrick still ends up playing a majority of the snaps a game.

Gesicki for sure considering there isn’t much at TE. As you pointed out, Fitz’s situation is different with the guys in the secondary.
I wouldn’t expect Gesicki to sit long if he even does to start.

Gesicki should see the field on third downs and redzone at a minimum.

That is how I see it as well. You don't draft a player that high and sit him. Ross will probably throw a fit if that #11 pick isn't out there proving to him why they didn't trade down for more picks. Have to let the rookie show and prove....and prove he will.
If Minkah loses the initial battle at fs with mcdonald, he will be the primary slot db on base downs, and the same goes for tj. Have to remember we gave a 24mil contract to tj just on how good that duo looked last offseason so its going to be a battle. But in no way do both players not get significant snaps all year.

Drafted package guys for 2018 more than anything else. Expect to see a lot of package football.
