Bear with me and I'll take it one at a time. I'll show here that while it seems bad now in comparison to our east foes we are still right there. We were gonna get at least 4 losses in the end anyway we just got ours earlier then them because of the schedule. Here's the breakdown.
1)Saints
Jets and Bills already lost to them and the Pats have to go to the dome next month. I'm sorry but I'm not sold on the Pats being totaly back to their old selves because they beat up on the Titans and Bucs in back to back weeks. Even if they are I don't think they beat them in their house on a Monday Night.
So all 4 of us took a loss on this one
2)Colts
Jets and Pats both still have to play them and both have to travel too Indy. Anyone betting against the Colts in those two games? As far as the Bills they don't play the Colts this year so we'll just throw the Browns loss in here for balance.
(Edit: The Bills do play the Colts which even further proves my point on this loss)
3)Chargers
The Pats don't play the Chargers but they did lose their west coast game as well to the Broncos, so as far as I'm concerned that makes it even.
While the Jets did win their west coast game (Raiders) they also lost another key player to injury (Washington) on the trip. Beside if we can beat the Jets this week the 2 wins against them this year will cancel this out anyway.
As far as Buffalo they don't really have a west coast game unless you want to consider KC west coast. Anyway same goes for them we need to beat them again for the sweep and that will balance this loss out.
4)Falcons
This is the only one I could not find total balance on because the Pats beat them. The only thing I could figure on this is sort of a hope, we beat Houston and the Pats lose to them? We also need to split our series w/the Pats this year in addition for all this to stand a chance. Like I said this is the trickiest part of my equation. As far as the Jets they still have Atlanta and with their injury's and the Falcons starting to hit their stride thats a tough win for the Jets. The Bills must travel to Atlanta yet and I'm betting on the Falcons to win that one pretty easily.
So to recap we just need to focus on taking care of these divisional games, beat the Jets and Bills one more and split with the Pats. If this can happen I think we are back to even going into the last two games of the season and still got a shot.
I break it down even further on this other thread from yesterday. I did not include the Bills on this one because (imo) the divisional losses alone will bump them out.
