Bear with me and I'll take it one at a time. I'll show here that while it seems bad now in comparison to our east foes we are still right there. We were gonna get at least 4 losses in the end anyway we just got ours earlier then them because of the schedule. Here's the breakdown.

1)Saints

Jets and Bills already lost to them and the Pats have to go to the dome next month. I'm sorry but I'm not sold on the Pats being totaly back to their old selves because they beat up on the Titans and Bucs in back to back weeks. Even if they are I don't think they beat them in their house on a Monday Night.

So all 4 of us took a loss on this one

2)Colts

Jets and Pats both still have to play them and both have to travel too Indy. Anyone betting against the Colts in those two games? As far as the Bills they don't play the Colts this year so we'll just throw the Browns loss in here for balance.
(Edit: The Bills do play the Colts which even further proves my point on this loss)

3)Chargers

The Pats don't play the Chargers but they did lose their west coast game as well to the Broncos, so as far as I'm concerned that makes it even.
While the Jets did win their west coast game (Raiders) they also lost another key player to injury (Washington) on the trip. Beside if we can beat the Jets this week the 2 wins against them this year will cancel this out anyway.
As far as Buffalo they don't really have a west coast game unless you want to consider KC west coast. Anyway same goes for them we need to beat them again for the sweep and that will balance this loss out.

4)Falcons

This is the only one I could not find total balance on because the Pats beat them. The only thing I could figure on this is sort of a hope, we beat Houston and the Pats lose to them? We also need to split our series w/the Pats this year in addition for all this to stand a chance. Like I said this is the trickiest part of my equation. As far as the Jets they still have Atlanta and with their injury's and the Falcons starting to hit their stride thats a tough win for the Jets. The Bills must travel to Atlanta yet and I'm betting on the Falcons to win that one pretty easily.

So to recap we just need to focus on taking care of these divisional games, beat the Jets and Bills one more and split with the Pats. If this can happen I think we are back to even going into the last two games of the season and still got a shot.

I break it down even further on this other thread from yesterday. I did not include the Bills on this one because (imo) the divisional losses alone will bump them out.

not even going to read the post, the Dolphins are 2-4 that isn't good. no way to justify it.

Good news Chad henne is 2-1 and gets to go play a rough jets team at home and an even rougher pats team.. we finally get to see what he's made of!

I appreciate your optimism, and what you're saying is absolutely right.

What bugs me is how this team should have done so much better, even if they manage a miracle and accomplish what you're hoping they will. Their underachievement this year is matched only by their overachievement last year. They are a good team but when push has come to shove, they've done themselves in. Everyone's had a hand in it, from coaches to players.

Are they good enough to accomplish a 5-1 division record, a possible division win or wildcard berth? Absolutely. Are they mentally tough enough to do so after they've pissed away the first part of their season? Highly f-ing doubtful.

No way to justify it really? Well let me try, the 4 teams we have lost to are a combined 19-5 this year take away the Chargers and it becomes 16-2. Seeing how we are one season from 1-15 and the youngest team in the league excuse me for not being to hard on them and a total bandwagon fan.

Fans like you are the ones that claim after the fact to have supported the team the whole time but in reality you only wear your Fins gear when we are winning.

Truth!

MIA is 2-4. That is reality. You can sit here and type in your reasoning, but people like myself have watched every game and seen the same mistakes in ALL 4 loses.

Truth is you do little when attacking the character of a fellow phin poster. Because some here don't believe as you do, because we choose to believe what we seen with our own eyes, doesn't give you 'god' status of being a fan.

I guess if putting things down and saying MIA isn't quite as bad as OUR eyes see it, than good for you. But it just goes to show your aqua colored glasses need to be cleaned, because they are clouding someones vision.

Bet you bailed last year too after we when 2 and 4 to start. Be a fan not just a critic.

Tough lose and there will be more but now we'll see what we got as far as heart.

Critical analysis is cool.

Raising the white flag after 6 games is uncalled for.

Just by humble opinion.

I didn't see you at the KC/MIA game last year. Posts like this and the OP, make me sick. Because people don't follow in your collective thought your a lesser fan? I guess Jonestown people were great fans!

Truth be known your right but the whole story isn't being shown here. There was another post along with my response that has been removed by the mods where I was attacked for this thread. When responding too Smith21 I may have allowed some of my anger too leak into that response. I totally meant what I said as response to his post but the questioning of him truly being a fan was uncalled for your right.

Give me a break, first of all I'm not just blindly saying "we can still do it!" There is an actual breakdown of why I think we can. If you see flaws in my theory then bring them up but don't try to act like because I still hold out hope and see some light I just have on "Aqua colored glasses" If you ask me thats the lazy way to win the argument or at least attempt to.

To be the best, you must beat the best. The level of competition is an opportunity to show how good we are, not to make excuses for how you "almost" made it. We have simply been exposed as a 2nd tier team in need of more talent.

Great analysis

You take into account WHEN we all play the same opponent. We are a good team. Not perfect, but then what team is. We went toe to toe with the two best teams in football (Indi and NO) and had a chance to beat both with better execution in the 4th quarter.

Also, remember that injuries are going to be a big factor down the stretch.

NY already has lost Kris Jenkins and Leon Washington. We lost Chad Pennington and Will Allen. The bills lost a bunch of players, and New England should lose some players. If it's Wilfork or Brady, that immediately changes this race.

I like the "get to 4 and 4" idea. We get there and we can reassess.

The bottom line is if we miss the playoffs by a tie breaker or by a game we will look back at two games we should have won but found away to lose in Indy and NO. It doesn't matter the quality of opponent in wins and losses it matters that you win the games you can win and we should have won both those games. At the end of the year if we miss the playoffs theres no consulation for losing to quality opponents, a loss is a lost opportunity.

The same goes for the people saying last year was what it was because we had a soft schedule. When actually we won games we could win and set ourselves up to win which we've failed to do consistently this year so far. I'm not saying the season is done or anything like that, we still control our division with these next two games coming up.

We now need to win practically every game, maybe 1 loss but two could be two to many. The divisional games are bigger then ever now.

IF we make the playoffs its because we are a great team. With a great rushing attack and a great QB.

Odds are we don't make the playoffs but we come decently close. 9-7 I think.

WE have the talent, we have the skill, we have the will. We havent learned how to close against the ELITE teams. We do it to the bad teams but we fail to close against the best. It's close enough for me seeing how our starting CB went down early in the 3rd quarter, the play calling was the reason we lost, and bad calls by the refs.

We failed to close against INDY but we really had the Saints in the bag. Our rookies will be fine this year and I believe our measuring stick is against the Patriots. Pat white is being used in the wrong ways. Ginn needs more deep posts, fades, and fly routes. Hartline needs to play more.

I'm thinking 2010 right now. Finish in the middle of the pack. Show some promise. Schedule beat us early. I think we will play very good down the stretch but it wasnt enough to overcome the greatness of the teams we played prior. Any hating nfl fan can say what they want but we played the undefeated teams better than anyone yet. We will be fine and Henne has throw 7 TDS this year so theres a bright side.

I got some red reputation points for this post so thats the only reason im bringing this thread back up.

there is no way to justify winning 2 out of 6 games, ill stand by that statement. I also what we have to look forward to is the fact that we get to see what Henne is made of on the road.. he didnt look so hot against the jets defense, hopefully he looks better than he did against the Pats, he looked good in the huddle though and i blame the o-line for most his mistakes anyways.

to say im not a dolphins fan because i didn't like the fact that they went 2-4?? what does that even mean.. I watched every game of the 1 win season. ive watched the dolphins since i was in diapers. you need to just wake up a little, sorry that i expect the team i like to be better than .500 =/ 2-4 two years in a row shouldn't be acceptable and if they make the playoffs again its sure luck that you can turn around twice like that. but it will also say a lot about the conditioning of the team.

Losing 4 games, and losing 4 games to THOSE teams isn't anything to be ashamed of.

The problem is the way that they have lost.

The fact that they cannot consistantly defend the middle of the field against a TE, or the middle against a QB sneak inside the 5 are HUGE problems.
