I was looking at our roster at espn and noticed they have Paul Solai listed as an offensinve lineman. This got me thinking do they know something we dont? Probably not but think about the transition that a guy like Kris Dielman made from DT to Guard and look at Paul Solai's size and it makes you think. Could this 6'4" 340 Samoan Bulldozer be a road grader at guard?

Must be a typo on their part. Nothing has ever been said about moving Soliai to guard and I am sure it will be awhile before all the players are rated by the new staff. If they decided to do that it would not be at this time of the year anyway.

Lets bring in Faneca from the Steelers. :woot:

I just read that Sparano is an in-your-face kinda guy and Faneca seems to be pretty intense. I wouldn't mid a vet like that on the line at all...

Soliai used to play o line, that is prolly why the confusion.

NFL Draft Tracker said:
Soliai began his career in 2002 at Coffeyville (Kansas) Community College where he was an offensive tackle. In 2003 he was a first team JUCO All-American at offensive tackle for Coffeyville.

well if he is good there than maybe who knows but i would love to see us get faneca

The only problem with Faneca is his age. This team needs to be rebuilt with youth. By the time we get good again, Faneca will be about ready to retire.

Soliai is big, strong, and fast for his size. The problem is he doesn't know how to use those things to his advantage. He can't change direction or even move well for that matter. His biggest knock is his hand technique. Those are important qualities needed in offensive linemen too. I think they should keep Soliai where he's at. He's already got a year of experience and an offseason to learn from his mistakes. He also has a lot of potential there.

Last I heard, Ryan Lilja and Jake Scott will be free agents. They've done well with the Colts and could be an option. I'd personally like to get Jason Brown from the Ravens. He's big, extremely strong, mean, and a great run blocker.
