Our Backup LB's??? (Random)

I know this is random but:

Jason Glenn
Eddie Moore
Derrick Pope
Nick Rogers

Are these four LB's for sure going to be on the starting roster this next season or are we expecting to cut any of them?

I know we have Thomas, Crowder, Hodge, and Spragan starting right now...but I'm just curious to know who do we expect to cut by the start of next season??

Any of them?
 
Jason Glenn and Nick Rogers were axed already. Moore might be axed by June 1st.

Or back ups are really Labinjo, Pope and either Spragan or Hodge (both if we get Arrington)

Moore is gone or will be, he's too small and injury prone. Spragan and Pope are the only ones who'll stick and Pope moreso for his special teams work. Remember if we go to a 3-4 Taylor and Bowens will get time at OLB too. Plus this is a GREAT draft year for tweener LB/DEs.

Moore is not worth keeping, but his cap hit makes it less likely that he'll be gone.

Glenn is never going to be more than a STer and is too small for Capers D.

Rogers is good sized, but has never distinguished himself at Minny or here. However, Capers might be able to make him a decent backup...I'm not too sure of his strengths or weaknesses tho....

Pope is a guy that is really too small for Capers liking, but he has shown us ability to step in when needed in Zach's spot. He's a little faster and more athletic than Zach, but doesn't have the instincts that Zach has. He has played well for us. He was originally brought in by Bates and Wanny, but could fill a role as a backup. Also Remember that Capers signed Greenwood, who is almost identical in size and ability...

I would say that all could stay, however, the draft and June 1 cuts are still to come. I am sure we'll keep lots of LBs this year...
 
Alongside of Zach Would you rather have Channing Or Lavar on 4 & 1 at the Goal Line?

Lester Towns is still on the roster, he has alot of potential!
 
Why does no one think that Pope could be a starter? Sure, he might be small. So is Zach. Every time Pope has played, he's played almost as well as our other linebackers, to the point that one of them being injured didn't even matter. With the linebackers we have had the past 2 years, thats a strong showing.

Saying we don't draft or sign another LB

I think Pope makes the team as a ST. Moore has ran into some bad luck, but may make the team as a ST. He won't get cut for cap reasons though, it will be a talent issue.

I don't think Rogers or Glenn are even on the roster anymore are they?

Now if we draft high/FA sign 1 or more LB's.

I'm almost certain it'll spell the end of Moore simply because there isn't enough roster spots to keep him on...

Pope and Moore = terror squad :sidelol:
 
Pope can only start if Zack goes down. With the type of defense we play you can get away with 1 undersized LB, but not 2.
 
What this shows is that Lb is def. a concern and we really need to upgrade the postion. I say Draft Ernie Sims with 16, but a solid free agent pickup, and there are decent guys still out there is a must

I like Ernie Sims but, I think we may pass only because of his size.
