Includes three solid starters in Chambers, Booker and Hagan. We also have P.K. Sam and Marcus Vick. I've read many posts about possible FA recievers and draft prospects; how about Hagan? Is he still a fourth receiver or does he get elevated to third? Do we draft and acquire one reciever for depth and training camp numbers? Any further insight this position would be appreciated. :dolphins:

I have to say I was exited about Hagan coming in. As of now I think he has a lot to prove before naming him the 3rd guy. He dropped an amazing amount of balls last year. Some were right through his hands. This was his stigma coming out of the combine and senior bowl, and before that, he never dropped anything. So your guess is as good as mine whats happening. Lets hope he has a good preseason and shows the rookie jitters are gone.

It might be premature to consider Hagan a solid starter. Currently, he could be considered the #3 receiver since Vick just started learning the position last summer. But Hagan needs to worry about hanging on to the ball with the opportunities he has before he worries about starting games.

Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping he steps up... but we won't know until minicamps at the earliest.

What can a lead block do for you?
Head of the draft Brian Leonard bandwagon!

It looks like MIA has interest in upgrading the WR spot via FA rather than via the draft.

With Stalworth, McDonald, Washington, and Curtis on our radar...I think that Booker is on a short leash...

Maybe we open the season with:

Chambers, Stalworth, Hagan, McDonald, and Vick.

Actually....... Didn't Hagan look a LOT better towards the end of the season??? He was only gettin limited playing time but I seem to remember him catching some nice passes and using his body well to get into position. IDK..... I mean in the beginning it looked like he was just nervous and had those rookie jitters, but towards the end he looked pretty good IMO.

Wish we would have seen a little more of Hagan last year but I'm not sure he's locked the 3rd spot up. Probably whoever we sign/draft it will be an open competition for that spot.

This is also considered a very deep draft for WR. There are 10-12 guys projected as 1st or 2nd round talents. I think we could sign a guy like Curtis or McDonald, and draft a top guy, and maybe cut Booker after the draft. I kind of doubt that. Booker is a valuable contributor. I see us signing Curtis, McDonald, or Washington to be our #3 WR. I also see us taking one high in the draft, maybe Anthony Gonzalez in round 2. We spend a year grooming the rookie and Hagan, and Booker is cut loose in 2008.

Aundre Allison impressed me alot during senior bowl week, and then again at the combine. Yet no one is talking about him.

Couple of thoughts on the above responses:

1. Haven't heard that Booker is on a short leash.
2. Just based on the numbers I don't think we can cut many more wide-outs.
3. I would want both CC and booker to restructure.
4. Who will take over the PR/KR duties?

I dont see it unfolding that way. McDonald is only being looked at as a KR/PR replacement for Welker type. But no more than a #4 or #5 WR.

I do see Booker being cut/traded. Curtis, Stalworth, or Washington are being looked at as "starters", not #3's.

The fact that they have Washington on hold to see what happens with Stalworth and Curtis is evidence that Washington is being looked at as a possible starter.

It seems to me that Hagan will be given a chance to battle it out with Washington as the #2 and #3 WR if signed.

But if Stalworth or Curtis is signed. Then Hagan is automatically the #3 WR.

McDonald is only being looked at as a KR/PR. They probably will only sign him if Hicks isnt signed.

It looks as if MIA's #1 KR/PR option is Hicks. But they are waiting for word from his team that he is a RFA from that they would not match the offer.

I think that Booker will remain on the roster until at least draft day. Because he may be a part of a draft day trade. Or he would be kept if Chambers is part of a draft day trade.

More to come...

Hagan is far from solid! I agree he did not get much playing time last year and he may turn out to be just fine, but he is far from solid as far as I saw last year.

I like the idea of booker being traded say for a 4th rd pick if they can make it happen. If not release him.Im a huge fan of Washington and hope to see him play here and as far as Hagans goes i like to see more from him before we annoint him the # 3 wr.I think drafting a wr with that 2nd rd pick from the pats is a must.I like McDonald but im not sure about him and as far as kr/pr , one guy that is a sleeper would be Vick.I say give him a chance and see what he can do.

two things you can make out of this. one, we wont draft a wr which wqould be a very bad mistake on our part. i am not sold on vick , hagan, and any of the vet wrs. i was really wanting d'juan woods and dewayne jarrett.
however if we get a f/a wr then we may get a qb,left tackle , and rb or te and whover elsew that we need.
