Now I am not in any way saying we have a bad defense, but they played very bad on Sunday. I know they only let up 17 points, but with the way Pennington was throwing the ball there was NO WAY they should have scored 17. They let Martin run wild in the first half, and those high lofting balls that seemed to hang in the air more than the good year blimp were caught uncontested by Jets WR's. There is NO WAY on this planet that a ball should be in the air for that long and a defender not be able to get to it. Add to this that there was NO pressure being put on Pennington and other than the Goal Line stand you'd have to give the defense an F- for this performance.

Offense, Defense and special teams are all a big part of why we lost.

I dont know if it was scheme... or talent... we seemed to be giving such a big cushion to players that need to be jammed at the line ( like Madison.)

Its like they got freaked out about the Jets home field advantage and played without confidence.

I knew as soon as we didnt come up with that first fumble and JT jumped offside, then the long pass interference penalty...I knew it was going to be along day.

I have no idea where our secondary was. The ball hung in the air for 5 seconds everytime he threw over 10 yards. I just have no idea what was going on.

They gave to much cushion and they didn't play agressive enough in the pass game. I think we played solid against the run overal but thats mainly because we stuffed it in the second half and looked poor at sometimes in the first half against it.

It was the third down conversion defense that really hurt us.

I was talking about this with my bro and he seems to think our defense did a good job against the Jets offense, but I disagree. I think the Jets were sitting on their lead. They played it safe until they HAD to make something happen. And when they HAD to make something happen, they did. They weren't good enough to KILL our defense (goal line stop) but they were able to move the ball and score when needed and always stayed comfortably ahead of us.

I think we really need to get better at CB and we need another pass rusher on the DL. This isnt alot to add to the defense, however, because of age, we will need players at these positions and also we will need to replace players that are getting older (Seau, Traylor, etc)

P.S. Seau took a bad angle on the FBs blocks a few times, which led to big runs.

we were within 3 points mid way through the 4th with the jets having a 3rd and 13 deep in their territory and they get it. Yes our secondary failed us all game long, they need to improve but we knew it was one of our weaknesses before the season started.

Our defense definitely let us down on this one. Of course, it would have been nice if our offense could have sustained a few more long drives to give them a bit of a breather now and then. The whole team lost the game, not just the defense!

You need a pass rush. Any QB will find an open receiver when he's got 5 seconds in the pocket.

Anytime we can keep the JETS under 300 yds. Is a good game. The guilt should be sprinkled across the board. This game just shows that the Phins need more time to develop and gel with the overall scheme of things.

you guys need a better qb. only thing gus is going to help you win is a head-butting contest. just don't let him practice his technique on any walls.

It wasn't that they let up a bunch of yards or points, but that Pennington was throwing the ball HORRIBLY and he was still completing passes that should have NEVER of been completed
